Home Equity New Product Development Manager

This position will report to the Home Equity Product Management Channel Manager.  The incumbent is expected to be a proven “thought leader” who will use their abilities to influence others and build consensus towards the development and execution of enhanced Home Equity product offerings.  Their efforts will enable the business to optimize its product and service offering while supporting senior leadership objectives. The product manager’s largest areas of focus will be towards the development of Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) “line utilization” strategies with an emphasis on utility based product positioning.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Work directly with senior leadership and other internal partners (Risk Management, MIS, Compliance, Legal etc.) to determine business initiatives and priorities, and manage to timely and successful execution
  • Partner with Home Equity leadership team, Risk, Legal and Compliance to insure product enhancements/proposals are thoroughly evaluated
  • Define Home Equity product vision and business plan
  • Leverage research , data and other feedback loops to identify problems and customer’s unmet needs
  • Work with technology and implementation teams to define and execute on product roadmap
  • Develop product strategies that help optimize end to end cycle times
  • Establish iterative approach to testing key product hypothesis
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 6+ years in financial services
  • Strong understanding of mortgage banking Home Equity business environment
  • Strategic thinker with deep understanding of industry dynamics, verticals and competitive landscape
  • Self-starter with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Microsoft office suite with marked proficiency using PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent communications skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management.  

Preferred Skills

  • MBA or relevant post graduate degree preferred but not required
  • Prior work experience in Home Lending Operations, Home Equity Product Strategy, Finance,  Consulting, Risk Management or Marketing
