The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

The Sales P&A & Control function supports the regional Sales & Marketing organizations for the Markets & Investor Services segments of the Corporate & Investment Bank.  Comprising ~2,500 people, the regional Sales and Marketing organizations cover financial institutions and corporates on a cross-product basis and are responsible for growing a global, multi-billion dollar client franchise (~$21bn). 


Sales P&A & Control is regionally-aligned (with teams in New York, London and Hong Kong) with a Mumbai production hub, and an infrastructure reporting / projects team.  The team partners closely with Business Management, Sales, Product Control, Middle Office, Technology and other P&A colleagues.  The team provides Sales performance reporting (AFR, expenses, headcount) and deep analysis of our client franchise (wallet share, opportunities, regulatory considerations, etc).  The team has control, data quality and reference data responsibilities and also drives the supporting Technology agenda.


The Americas lead will directly manage five resources, and will be responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly BAU P&A tasks, leveraging Americas-aligned Mumbai resources.  The lead will also be responsible for improving data quality, strengthening associated controls, driving Americas initiatives as well as leading select global initiatives (which are shared across teams).  The candidate will need to become very familiar with the core client systems, products, and associated process flows.  While delivering BAU is central to the role, the real added value comes from working with the business to develop insightful new analyses and from successful project execution across multiple fronts.  A key priority is embedding new client profitability metrics into the way that Sales views our client franchise.  The candidate will work closely with the International Sales, Reporting Infrastructure, Mumbai and Client Profitability teams to ensure coordinated and efficient delivery of best practice solutions.

  • Very strong analytical skills, combined with solid presentation skills (PPT)
  • Effective project management skills
  • Self-starter, able to take the initiative and operate independently; improvement focused
  • Able to manage competing deadlines and to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Able to effectively manage and develop a small team, ensuring coordinated delivery
  • Able to see and articulate the “big picture” while being comfortable with the detail (“hands dirty”)

  • Strong Excel modelling experience / large data set manipulation
  • Prior P&A, financial or management reporting experience
  • Knowledge of JPM reporting systems (Paragon, XIB, WCP)
