Position Summary
Japan In-Country Product Manager as an Associate level, who works in the team to support developing and maintaining products/services in Treasury Services.  Japan In-Country Product Management Team is responsible for meeting the business objectives relating to cash management and liquidity products/services in Japan, which are provided to a client base consisting of multinationals, corporates and financial institutions in and outside Japan, while controlling all associated risks.  The individual is expected to work closely with Product Managers to design client solutions, work on product planning and do data research and analysis relating to TS business.  The individual will also create and update internal and external documents including marketing materials through the engagement with internal and external partners such as Regional Product Management, Sales, Operations, Technology, Client Service and Implementation, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders.  Further, the individual is expected to expand his/her knowledge and skills and gain in experience to become a fully qualified and trusted Product Manager within a few years.  
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
  • Work with Product Managers to design client solutions
  • Maintain relevant documents and materials updated
  • Work with external organizations/bodies such as the Japanese Bankers Association, International Bankers Association of Japan, etc. for meetings, dialogues, questionnaires, etc.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions with the internal stakeholders from different departments/units
  • Periodic vendor management
  • Periodic review on MSP and Clearing Agents with Network Managers
  • Research and analyze the market trend and prepare data for Japan Treasury Service pitch book and other client materials
  • Work with Operations and Service teams to manage irregular cases, with advice from Product Managers, and facilitate meetings and discussions to resolve the matter 
  • Minimum of 8-year experience in cash management and liquidity products/services (e.g. Operations, Client Service, Sales, Product, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge on Payables, Receivables, Liquidity and FX, and expected cash flow of each - how a payment is processed; how settlement is done; what are the risks; how currency conversion works; and how the bank can generate revenue from each of these flows 
  • Basic knowledge on industry/technology platform supporting transaction banking business
  • Strong in project management with a proven track record of managing and delivering projects, with an eye for detail
  • Good understanding and appreciation of competitive developments and market dynamics
  • Strong analytical skills and good with numbers
  • Energetic self-starter; able to take initiative and run with it - confident, articulate and driven personality who can work harmoniously across different functions, country teams and cultures to deliver products enhancements
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, a mature self-motivated team player
  • Fluency (oral, hearing & written) in both English and Japanese is required
CA / MBA from a reputed institute preferred. 
CCM (Certified Cash Manager) or ACT (Association of Corporate Treasurers) certification are a plus.
