Global Reference Data Operations (GRDO) provide best-in-class reference data solutions and    operations services in a timely, consistent, cost effective, high quality manner. We develop and drive global implementation of firmwide standards for defining, collecting, maintaining, consuming and distributing reference data. This enables multiple lines of business across J.P. Morgan Chase to leverage consistent, high-quality client reference data.  Functions include; Pricing, Instrument, Finance and Client Reference data.
 
The Role:
 
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead a strategic project to help with the oversight, management and governance of several reference data domains. These include Instrument, Pricing, General Common, Industry & Geography.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assigned by the Data Domain Manager for each domain to manage domain data elements across business processes and facilitate adoption of standards and capabilities
  • Work side by side with line of business partners to support data management requirements
  • Develop a working knowledge of data lifecycle activities – data definitions, data lineage, data quality – and understand how data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomes
  • Identifying, inputting and maintaining metadata of critical data elements and decomposing attributes in DataBook
  • Initiates new CDEs by reviewing existing local glossary population and elevating terms into the Business Glossary
  • Responsible for defining and creating data quality rules in partnership with domain subject matter experts
  • Applies standards and data quality riles to ensure that data is governed at authoritative source applications
  • Participates / Chairs domain working groups to drive population of attributes in DataBook in support of Critical Business Initiatives
  • Initiates the review request workflows and drives reviews to request feedback on business term metadata
  • Maintaining and delivering metrics and reporting to demonstrate ongoing progress of the data domain progress
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with changing and multiple priorities.
  • Strong project management experience, preferably in a cross-LOB/function role.
  • Track record of execution against set milestones.
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations.
  • Reference data domain-specific expertise is a plus.
  • Very strong written and oral executive-level communication skills, including the ability to quickly adjust messages based on different audiences and agendas.
