As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

You will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 

  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

  • Work closely with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to ensure team and organization standards are followed and the team is consistently focused on continuous improvements and sustained delivery.

  • Participate in Release and Iteration Planning meetings with the team and other key stakeholders.

  • Employ simple design and pragmatic implementation techniques to drive business value.

  • Work with architects, vendors and other units in the organization to develop product and services roadmap

  • Review work of team members to ensure high-quality solutions.

  • Be open and actively seeking learning opportunities and come up with creative solutions to solve technology issues.

  • 5+ years of experience in design and development
  • Experience integrating API’s into web products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent communication skills.

Required Skills:

 

  • Strong working experience in Java Enterprise Development
  • Strong understanding of JEE design Patterns
  • Web – Experience building modern web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript Frameworks
  • JEE- Strong working experience Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) with Spring MVC, Hibernate / MyBatis/JPA, SOAP, REST, XML
  • Service Layer - Strong working experience interfacing with back-end application using MQ, SOAP, RESTful Services, and JSON
  • Maven – Strong experience working with Maven as a build tool including understanding of Maven standards and common practices
  • Databases – Strong working experience in SQL and building DAO’s against multiple DB’s Oracle, DB2

Additional Desired Skills:

 

  • Experience in one of the Enterprise Content Management  solutions like IBM FileNet P8, IBM CM 8, EMC Document, IBM CMOD
  • Experience in IBM Case Manager
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery using Jenkins
