Directly responsible to the EMEA ex-UK Legal Entity Controller, with additional local .reporting line to the Senior Country Business Manager for Luxembourg
Job Description
The SFO will manage a local team of 20 staff responsible for the financial reporting for JPMorgan Bank Luxembourg (JPMBL) and other JPM legal entities in Luxembourg. JPMBL is a significant credit institution regulated by the European Central Bank and by the CSSF locally and is covered by the Single Resolution Board. The entity is currently undergoing significant expansion both geographically as well as in terms of product offering and client base and there are plans for a major increase in capital to support the business growth expected.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure maintenance of complete and accurate accounting records and head office reporting, including preparation of yearend financial statements under local GAAP
  • Manage the production of reporting to the Luxembourg regulator and Central bank including CoRep, FinRep, LCR, and NSFR and monitoring against applicable limits
  • Manage the JPMBL Recovery Plan, SRB Interaction, ICAAP, Pillar III and all ad/hoc interaction with the ECB and CSSF with regard financial and prudential reporting.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls in accordance with corporate and regulatory standards
  • Manage the production of consolidated management information for use at the governance committees of JPMBL
  • Manage the production and submission of Corporate Tax and VAT returns
  • Manage finance outsourced activities in line with both corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor banking activities, including liquidity and funding
  • Manage relationships with external auditor, tax authorities and advisors, regulators (for Finance matters), and the Luxembourg Central bank

Technical skills/knowledge

  • Accounting standards – US GAAP, IFRS, and Lux GAAP
  • Eurozone regulatory framework – including but not limited to CRD IV, Single Supervisory Mechanism, Recovery and Resolution Directive, Deposit Guarantee Scheme Directive
  • Luxembourg regulatory framework – including but not limited to circulars 552, 554
  • Corporate Tax and VAT
  • Experience of the financial services industry preferably from a Bank environment.
  • Accountancy Qualification
  • Experience of understanding/interpreting regulations
  • Experience of presenting to Board level management
  • Experience of managing interaction with Regulators and Central Banks
  • Ability to develop effective and constructive relationships with peers and seniors
  • Ability to actively contribute to risk, commercial, regulatory and client agendas
  • Flexibility and experience of managing multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to function in a collegiate, constructive, and effective manner at all times
  • Demonstrate a risk management and compliance frame of mind – ability to identify address key risks
