Morgan’s Custody and Fund Services (C&FS) business is comprised of Custody, Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services.
Function Overview:
Client & Services Platform forms part of the Custody & Fund Services Product Development group. Our mission is to support our clients’ investment process by providing market leading reporting and information delivery services.
Key Role & Responsibilities:
  • Program management:
    • End to end responsibility for planning, managing and delivering dashboard & reporting program, including business specifications, functional specifications, technology builds, testing, training and communication, organizational readiness, client migration planning and execution
    • Assume the product owner role (Agile methodology) to manage the execution of the reporting work stream from scope planning to go-live based on agile methodology including ABC (Accelerated Business Case) phase planning, backlog grooming, stories definition and sprint/iteration planning including stakeholder and executive stakeholder meeting for status and actions
    • Follow-up on outstanding action points raised during project meetings and ensure the coordination of projects throughout their life-cycle including gathering requirements, working on the implementation schedule and organizing testing pre-release.
    • Develop and support project plans through strategy development, project definition, and implementation
    • Write and provide sign-off on Business Requirement documents ensuring that any proposed solution as been syndicated with the relevant parties prior to implementation
  • E2E Delivery Planning and Product development
    • Establish and manage relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders and participants from Product, Technology, Operations, Client Service, and partner organizations members to identify areas for technical and operational improvement
    • Provide concise communication and updates to all levels of the organization on a routine basis under the aegis of “Community/LAB”
    • Partner with Legal, Compliance & Risk to identify and address areas of risk & regulatory exposure across multiple workflows
  • Assistance with RFP and Sales Process
    • Review industry best practice for reporting solutions
    • Support the sales process with contributions to RFPs, pitchbooks, and other material
    • Preparation and maintenance of training and marketing material
  • High-profile Client Delivery
    • Develop and maintain custom client reporting solutions, including board-level reporting with charts/graphs, well written commentary and other bespoke elements
    • Contribute to current custom deliverables for high-profile and complex clients in a repeatable manner
    • Identify opportunities to automate bespoke reporting solutions
  • The candidate will work very closely with Client & Service platform teams globally. While most of the activities will be strategic build, there will be some support for the technology and operations staff in Bangalore.
Required skills/experience:
  • Considerable experience in a Banking environment with product and change management experience
  • Experience in process flow analysis/mapping
  • Strong project management capabilities. Certification in one of the program management skills is a plus
  • Ability to analyze business models/practices and identify innovative solutions
  • Effectively communicate key messages, and simplify complex business situations. And ability to interface with all levels in the organization from senior management to process participants
  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills and working knowledge of Visio and SharePoint
  • Delivery and ownership focused
  • Able to influence senior management to adopt change to current practice/process
  • Navigate a global organization and be able to prioritize competing objectives
  • Organized and efficient with ability to work within small teams or as an individual contributor, within reporting deadlines
  • Academic Background:
    • Bachelors in engineering, finance or mathematics
    • Exposure to data modelling and basic statistics
    • Exposure to portal development or client-reporting
  • Industry Knowledge Required:
    • Industry experience: experience working in Financial services with specific experience in Global Markets, Custody, Fund Services, Securities Lending, Collateral Management or Prime Brokerage
    • Alternatively for the right candidate: Industry experience in a tech-product
