Duties: Make design choices, develop code and provide guidance to other junior developers. Develop object oriented design, service components and database queries. Develop Java/J2EE components and build third party integration based on specifications. Work with application subject matter expert to resolve complex design/code issues of the existing application in production. Take part in full project lifecycle, for both development and support projects, including estimation. Provide the functional and technical support for requests raised by business team within defined service level time. Prepare test plans and perform system testing. Work on projects with demanding timescales. Keep track of issues and requests, and ensure proper follow-up and closure. Work closely with clients, users and managers. Work in a highly energetic, multi-faceted, international environment showing ability to quickly assess technical challenges and respond appropriately. Work with the business team to understand requirements and help/guide the technical team with the development and delivery of a fully tested application.
Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field.
Minimum experience required: 5 years of experience in development of critical, large applications in financial sector, or related experience.
Skills required: Java experience. Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) experience. Apache Kafka experience. Web Services experience. Spring experience. Experience in all phases of software development life cycle of Java/J2EE projects. Experience in system study and business requirement analysis. Experience in application architecture and designing. Experience in Object oriented design (OOAD), development of JAVA/J2EE and middleware solutions. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
