Credit Technology is focused on delivering best in class IT solutions to the Credit Trading business where JP Morgan is a market leader. We are a team of around 125 people with the core of our development effort based in the financial hubs of London, New York and Hong Kong where we partner closely with the quant research group and face off directly to the trading desks. Our core strength is providing the technical expertise and software development skills that directly affect the ability of our business to generate revenue and remain the dominant player in the market. We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer (VP) as part of the Credit Technology front office development team in Hong Kong. The role will combine elements of design, architecture and development along with team of experienced and junior technologists. It requires an expertise in creating and maintaining of high quality and reusable components in a service-based architecture that will be leveraged by a variety of teams across Credit Technology. The role will involve working with global credit team to provide solutions for the local trading desk, direct interaction with the trading desk for technical support, troubleshoot and analysis of issues and provide stable and resilient trading platform.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge and hands on with object oriented programming languages and concepts – (Python, Java/C#)
  • Working experience with middleware systems - TIBCO RV, JMS, IBM MQ or similar products.
  • Working experience with relational databases – Sybase or Oracle preferred.
  • XML, FIX, JSON, protobuf message handling experience and knowledge of related tools and libraries
  • Web technologies – HTML5, JavaScript, SOAP, REST services would be advantage.
  • Familiarity with Time series databases e.g. OneTick, KDB
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Hands on experience working on Low latency, multithreading front office trading applications.
  • Strong analytical development skills, Object-Oriented design, distributed computing
  • Have experience on using multiple programming languages/platforms
  • Fast learner, adaptability to work on different technical platforms for troubleshooting
  • Experience working on a strong software development process (build, test, deploy etc)
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Understanding of trade life cycle and experience with booking and settlement systems
  • Knowledge of Credit products / Credit business is desirable
  • Understanding and experience with OTC markets BBG, MarketAxess, TradeWeb desirable
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the development team in Hong Kong to provide local expertise for solutions for desk requests.
  • Partner with production support and infrastructure support teams to provide second level of support and work on improving stability of the systems.
  • Partner closely and strong collaboration with the global technology team to identify opportunities to build common components, delivering a more service-based architecture and greater degree of reuse across teams globally
