Duties: Create and design architecture for databases. Design and implement DB security, user management for SOX compliance. Install and configure databases, clusters, and Disaster Recovery replication solutions. Collect detailed requirements for database enhancements and fixes from LOB developers. Develop scripts for database maintenance. Coordinate with application teams to prepare project plans and to define iteration schedules and high level tasks. Deploy enterprise releases to production. Assist developers with performance tuning on DBs and applications.Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience as a Database Administrator/Architect, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires any amount of experience with the following skills: MS SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, and R2; SQL failover clustering, DB Mirroring, Log Shipping and different modes of replication, performance tuning, backup and recovery, query optimization, and security; SQL Server installation and configuration on Standalone, VM, and multi-node cluster; SQL Server performance and activity such as debugging locks, deadlock, blocking, Trace, Log Viewer, database tuning advisor, show plan, and other database inefficiencies using SQL Profiler; SQL Server concepts such as data compression, backup stream compression, dynamic management views for databases and data warehouses, database consistency checks, Index Tuning Wizard supporting VLDB, Logon triggers, troubleshooting the critical issues, and performing root cause analysis; Data Migration from Oracle to SQL Server, developing automation tools using Shell scripting for server configuration checks; and OLTP performance.
