Finance & Business Management’s goals are to ensure sound control environments and provide financial advice to support the business strategy. Within F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, both financial and regulatory, as well as ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.


The Product Control team is responsible for producing a fully substantiated T+1 P&L and focuses on the control environment for the business. 


An Associate in the Product Controller Team is responsible for the day-to-day production of P&L, performing reconciliations and resolving issues that impact the T+1 P&L.  They are also responsible for month-end and quarter-end close in coordination with Financial Controllers.  The Associate will work closely with the Front Office and Operations teams.  There is an opportunity to oversee the day to day operations of a product control team of analysts and associates if the candidate has enough experience.



  • Running, analyzing, and overseeing the mark to market of the portfolio, daily P&L reporting, P&L substantiation, and full Greek and residual analysis. Higher level oversight opportunity available if candidate has enough experience.
  • Reconciliation of commissions, revenue sharing and soft dollar rebates across the Equities business to identify drivers of performance.
  • Generate daily risk reports and investigate risk reporting related queries
  • Partnering with Financial Control to ensure that front to back systems are in line and to close out month end with accurate reporting of MIS and accounting in the books and records
  • Funding and Balance Sheet analysis.
  • Production of weekly/monthly MIS for senior management


The person in this role will also: 

  • Understand the process flows for all products from trade origination through to corporate accounting systems       
  • Understand the economics of hedging strategies and products
  • Understand the legal, regulatory, compliance, credit, market risk management, tax and accounting issues as it relates to the product or booking entity
  • Look to improve processes and actively lead and participate in new project and process initiatives


  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics preferred
  • Prior experience in a Financial Services Product Control environment; Experience with P&L production and understanding of the G/L
  • Cash and Derivatives product knowledge, including a basic understanding of risk.
  • Prior experience in Equities and/or Derivatives finance is preferred
  • The individual must be analytical, self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The individual should be proactive in improving processes and infrastructure
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel is mandatory
