The VP of Operating Expense Management is a member of the Card Services and Chase Merchant Expense Planning and Analysis team.  The Expense P&A team serves as a strategic analytical resource to help senior executives understand, manage, forecast and plan expenses of the business.

 

The VP will:

  • Support Card Services monthly/annual financial planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis to help Senior Management prepare for monthly management meetings and corporate business reviews
  • Support Card Services headcount reporting processes
  • Support the preparation of internal and external presentations for Senior Management
  • Proactively analyze trends, research issues and respond to inquiries
  • Drive process improvement within expense management to enhance reporting and gain efficiencies 
  • Work closely with other LOB P&A teams, CCB P&A team, Business Unit Presidents and CFO teams
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all expense management reporting and forecasting
  • Complete ad-hoc research and analysis as needed
  • Manage team of associates
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
  • Advanced degree helpful, but not required
  • 10+ years in Finance/Accounting, management consulting or other financial/analytic roles
  • Strong judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, fact based, has the courage to ask the tough questions and challenge the status quo and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills – ability to synthesize financial information into concise, insightful and actionable recommendations comfortable interacting with and presenting to all levels of management
  • Strong quantitative, critical thinking and analytic skills, confidence with finance and accounting concepts, understanding of financial statements, has the ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex concepts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and provide strong documentation
  • Prior management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint/PitchPro, Essbase and SAP
