The Treasury Group Manager for Commercial Bank’s Commercial Term Lending (CTL) is responsible for building and leading a new, national Treasury Services division, serving clients in the Commercial Real Estate CTL business. CTL provides commercial real estate owners and investors with term financing solutions for purchase or refinance of stabilized industrial, retail, office, mixed use and multifamily properties with five or more units, and J.P. Morgan Chase is a market leader in the segment. This manager will play a key role in identifying appropriate staff, product, and process models to add a Treasury Services component to this mature business. The goal is to deliver an exceptional experience for clients while mitigating risk and appropriately building and guiding teams to achieve business results. This position maintains and develops trusted relationships with Coverage Partner leadership, Client Managers, Onboarding, KYC, Implementations, Service, and Product Leadership.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop personnel, process, and product strategies for a new Treasury Services business serving a mature Commercial Real Estate segment with both large and small scale developers and operators.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development on all aspects needed to achieve successful performance including partner management and customer retention.
  • Monitors staff performance, provides appropriate coaching, recognition and feedback.
  • Work with management to clearly communicate the vision, goals and expectations for the team. 
  • Work with management to develop sales strategies within the markets to drive key metrics growth
  • Build collaborative internal relationships--with Coverage Leadership and other internal partners.
  • Participates in partner meetings and communicates key Treasury Services messages in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Aligns daily activities to drive strategic business objectives.
  • Protects the firm by applying sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Takes ownership of escalated segment client issues and leverages the appropriate resources to champion results.

  • Business Acumen – Ability to understand the overarching Commercial Real Estate Treasury Service business environment both internally and externally. Ability to drive business results in alignment with strategic objectives. Ability to drive and manage process and controls.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or Masters in Finance or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in Treasury Services, Financial Services or related business experience, serving small business, middle market, and institutional clients
  • Strong record of accomplishment leading a Treasury Services team
  • 5+ years of management experience over a sales team
  • Experience in managing geographically distributed team
  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry segment
  • Deep consultative sales acumen
  • Sales management in an outside business to business sales environment with a documented track record of success / top performance
  • Strong coaching, motivation and leadership skills; ability to network, recruit, train, develop and promote field staff
  • Executive Presence showing success building and influencing internal and external strategic selling networks
