Global Strategy & Core Services (GSCS) is focused on developing and delivering services that integrate software solutions with infrastructure in innovative, cost effective and efficient ways. The GSCS team provides services for use by business-aligned application delivery organizations, across all layers of the software stack, which may include application interface services, productivity and collaboration tools, and data integration solutions.
 
As a lead of the Application Development team, you'll play a big part in building and architecting the platforms and applications  that make it possible for us to provide service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day.  As part of agile team, you and your peers will be responsible for driving results, collecting and analyzing requirements, and managing projects to completion.  And while you will be part of a tight-knit team of engineers who shares your passion for technology, you’ll also gain access the best minds in the business—both as part of the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global technology community, and through our partnerships with some of the most important tech firms in the world.
 
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Knowledge in the following key areas: Software   & Systems Architecture, Distributed  Systems, Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)

  • Drive design to implementation, testing and deployment to production

  • Experts in Java, J2EE, OpenSource, Cloud , Database technologies

  • Knowledge of more than one specific infrastructure technology

  • Thinks creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement

  • Be part of global agile development team

 

Qualifications
 
Essential Skills:
  • Hands on  Experience  in  Java/J2EE programming, OpenSource , Cloud and Database Technologies
  • Experience / knowledge of Continuous Integration (Hudson/Jenkins), Sonar Source and Artifactory
  • Experience with Scripting – Python, Perl, UNIX Shell
  • Experience of Service Monitoring – Nagios, Netcool, Tivoli
  • Knowledge of Web Services - Apache, Tomcat, SOAP, REST
  • Knowledge of Automated Testing & Deployment
 
Other responsibilities extend to application deployment, change management, incident management, capacity upgrades, reporting, system integration and essentially ensuring the availability of a stable and performing platform used by Development and Technology teams across the firm.
 
As primary point of escalation for issues around the support of the Services - both usage and configuration - there will be regular direct contact with end users, excellent communication and the ability to build and maintain relationships is essential.
 
The roles requires someone that is quick learner, detail oriented with the experience of working efficiently and effectively in a global distributed environment.
