J.P. Morgan's Oil & Gas Investment Banking Coverage team is seeking a Senior Analyst/Junior Associate. The Oil & Gas team counts among its clients a wide variety of oil & gas industry participants at every part of the energy value chain. These clients include large, multi-national integrated energy companies, independent exploration & production firms, oilfield services providers, refiners and midstream pipeline and infrastructure operators. The Oil & Gas team is a part of the Energy Group within the Corporate & Investment Bank and is headquartered in New York, with additional offices in Houston, Calgary, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
As an Investment Banking Senior Analyst/Junior Associate, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Market, structure and execute Investment Banking transactions
Works with corporate clients on raising capital and shaping corporate strategy
Oversee the quantitative development of supporting analyses, quality of all investment banking project materials, and work with senior management to expand market reach, project direction and expertise in the field
Supervise analysts in developing analytical models, presentations and marketing materials
Analyze market, financial situation and position of client companies and competitors
Learning and interacting with J.P. Morgan’s clients, products, services, and business practices
Executing client transactions from start to closing
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Bachelors’ degree or Masters’ degree from a reputable university
Experience in Investment Banking (experience within Natural Resources or M&A groups highly preferred), equity research, private equity or similar field
Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills
CFA highly preferred
Ability to comfortably interact with business clients and management
Excellent technology skills with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. S/he will be able to quickly learn new software applications
Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive. Energetic and decisive, with high level of integrity
S/he will be able to communicate concepts and ideas both verbally and via documentation, and be able to defend their validity
Demonstrate a team mentality and be a relationship builder, who can establish trust and credibility across J.P. Morgan
An understanding of financial accounting and superior written and verbal skills.
The ideal candidate is a creative, innovative team player. It is critical that the Associate be able to relate well to client counterparts and develop good working relationships with these individuals. It is also important that this person display maturity, good judgment and an ability to work with professionals at all levels inside J.P. Morgan. Strong analytical, technical problem solving, planning and organizational skills are a must.
