The investment capabilities of AM Solutions reside within Multi-Asset Solutions, which has portfolio managers, research analysts, and client portfolio managers based in the US, London, and Asia. The global Client Solutions & Advisory team within AM Solutions includes Retirement Solutions and Institutional Solutions & Advisory. These teams provide thought leadership, strategic advice, and analytics within their respective fields of expertise.
Job Description
Senior Analyst / Junior Associate level finance role within the AM Solutions product CFO team in AM finance.
The finance professional is responsible for delivering value added financial reporting, planning/forecasting, and analysis.  The key objectives for this team are to deepen its analysis for the Solutions business, provide critical financial insights and analyses, drive key business priorities, and enhance controls and efficiencies. Specific 2017 objectives that the finance professional will directly contribute towards include production of the monthly EMR for the business, providing commentary on weekly flows numbers, validation of monthly flows and analysis of AUM movements in the book of business, and continued enhancement of PM scorecards, and standardization of pricing calculations.
The successful candidate will get a broad exposure to the business drivers of JP Morgan Asset Management and AM Solutions, and will also be expected to interact not just with the various finance functions (P&A, Profitability, Product/Client CFO teams), but also with peers and senior leaders within the Solutions business and other areas as necessary (eg Investment Directors, PAG).
Key functions of the role include:
  • Oversight and preparation of key MIS deliverables to the business (monthly financial reporting EMR), including analysis of financial results to understand key business drivers and ensure quality & integrity of reporting
  • Profitability Analysis – validation and oversight of expense allocations and revenue forecasting within the activity based costing model
  • Managing data Integrity of business pipeline, B@R and flows in partnership with client CFO teams
  • Managing data integrity of account performance data as reported in the % of AUM outperforming benchmark reports
  • Expense management and forecasting, understanding key expense drivers, and assisting with enforcement of AM expense policy
  • Preparing financial reporting or data sets for various stakeholders within Solutions business and support functions (Desk heads, CPMs, Marketing, RFP team, etc)
  • Additional ad hoc assignments to support finance and business agenda                 
  • Delivers results in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to innovate and multitask
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to colleagues and senior business leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with willingness to take ownership, accountability and initiative
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting across geographies and mediums
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large and varied data sets
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to apply skepticism and judgment as appropriate
  • Strong organization, coordination and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, Powerpoint, and Essbase (preferred)
  • Undergraduate degree is required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience
