Custody and Funds Services (CFS) is a division within the Investor Services business and is a global industry leader with $21 trillion in assets under custody.  J.P. Morgan provides custody, fund accounting & administration and securities services to the world's largest institutional investors, alternative asset managers and debt and equity issuers.  CFS is comprised of Custody, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services.
 
The Role

The role of Product Development is to partner across all functional areas (e.g. Product Management, Business Control, Legal, Operations, Technology, etc.) to set the strategic direction of the Custody business, evolve the business end-to-end and ensure that the supporting operating model and technology infrastructure deliver the product effectively and efficiently.
 
The multi-year Custody Transformation Program (CTP) is a highly visible, high profile project that will deliver to an end-to-end strategic business model.  The end state platform will be a service based model providing an efficient, robust and globally consistent operating model for securities that is adaptable, automated and utilizes risk based exception processing based on industry standards. 
 
The Program Manager will be responsible for investment planning, program management disciplines and controls, cross functional program delivery and the reporting and control framework of the program. The individual will partner with cross-functional teams on the operational model and drive change aligned to the strategic roadmap.
 
The role requires a dynamic individual with deep knowledge of the Custody business who is able to take ownership of the program management aspects of this initiative.
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Establishment of comprehensive standardized program governance
  • Generation and maintenance of program documentation covering governance, stakeholder management, program plans, actions and RAID logs.
  • Detailed program planning utilizing standardized program methodology
  • Driving program execution with a diverse range of stakeholders across Product, Operations (including the Middle Office) and Technology
  • Management of assigned issues and risks and ensuring risks & issues are escalated appropriately within CFS where appropriate
  • Running program governance forums including the Working Group, issue resolution meetings and other ad-hoc meetings as required
  • Program communications covering working groups, steering committees and other implementation related documentation
  • Strong program manager who works collaboratively with stakeholders whilst ensuring the team is held to account for individual and collective delivery
  • Deep subject matter expertise and experience in core custody services
  • Strong change management skills, demonstrating ownership and accountability for project deliverables
  • Well organized and with attention to detail in generating and maintaining detailed program documentation
  • Disciplined approach to control and process management
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, critical thinking and decision-making skills based on fact and business / industry knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Track record of partnership across multiple stakeholders
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize effectively and multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Strong Microsoft (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) skills
