The Role

The UK Product Administration is the centre of expertise and knowledge for service providers to the UK domiciled fund ranges (including Investment Trusts). It is a specialist, multi-disciplinary team who operationally monitor the JPMAM UK domiciled fund ranges and some of its service providers. Its mission is to ensure the highest standards are met by the relevant service providers, particularly J.P. Morgan Corporate and Investment Bank Fund Accountants, and that the daily NAV prices are accurately reported in a timely manner. The team is also responsible for the Fund Accounting Oversight aspects of fund launches and share class launches. 


The role is challenging and requires strong communication, planning and organisational skills to assist the team in delivering a consistent first class service to both internal and external stakeholders within a demanding environment. 


The core objective of the position is to be responsible for the accurate and timely production of various outputs including daily NAVs.  This requires an understanding of the key characteristics and risks of the JPMAM UK Fund ranges to ensure that internal checks/controls highlight issues as and when they arise.  It is key to develop/maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external groups undertaking the BAU role for Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting, Trustee & Depositary Services and Custody to ensure clear communication and ensure adequate standards are being met and escalation occurs as required.

 

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Daily review of market events in relation to fair valuation of assets and/or markets
  • Review the accuracy of the daily calculated prices for the UK domiciled Fund ranges (including Investment Trusts)
  • Monitor errors and incidents arising for the JPMAM UK Fund ranges and seek timely resolution of issues within set timeframes
  • Act as key knowledge point between UK Product Administration and the wider business
  • Liaison with both internal and external parties regarding Fund Accounting aspects of the JPMAM UK Fund Ranges
  • Month end and Quarter end reporting (both internal and external)
  • Quarterly swing pricing calculation
  • Monthly distribution reporting
  • Fund expense invoicing oversight
  • BAU share class launches
  • Involvement in fund specific initiatives (fund launches, mergers, terminations etc.)
  • Involvement in daily/weekly/monthly processes and reporting requirements across the whole UK Fund range
  • Attend key meetings where appropriate


KEY OBJECTIVES

  • The results and measures which will be used to gauge performance in this role are:
  • Daily review of NAVs within set timeframes
  • The volume of issues resolved in agreed timeframes
  • The number of errors of a reportable manner on the Funds
  • The compensation being paid out on behalf of the JPMAM UK Funds in respect of pricing errors
  • Feedback from Service Providers and internal departments on the query response rate
  • The development of a ‘Best Practice Model’ for procedures, processes and controls which accurately reflect the risks around the JPMAM UK Pooled Fund ranges
  • The creation of regular checklists, regular reviews and monitoring (issues log) leading to enhanced service provision and reporting of issues
  • The ‘buy-in’ of the Service Providers (internal and external) to the resolution of issues

KNOWLEDGE &EXPERIENCE
Technical knowledge

  • Specific knowledge of UK Pooled Funds, both Institutional and retail
  • Exposure to/understanding of Fair Valuation
  • Exposure/understanding of Swing Pricing  

 

Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or similar experience within a service delivery type role (specifically Fund Accounting)

Qualifications
IMC preferred although not essential

Systems knowledge

  • Microsoft applications including, but not limited to, Excel (to macro level ideally), PowerPoint and Word
