J.P. Morgan's Private Client Advisory (“PCA”) Group provides a full range of investment banking services to the companies of ultra high net worth individuals and families based across the EMEA region. The group is a joint venture between the Private Bank and Investment Bank. It works with individuals whose wealth is primarily tied up in their business, helping them grow and diversify that (often over the very long term) to “liquid wealth” that can be invested with the Private Bank. That can be through raising money for the company, helping it acquire other businesses, bringing in investors as partners (e.g. to fund expansion), taking the company public or selling it outright. We work closely with industry team partners in the Investment Bank and our Private Banking network to identify both mature and fast-growing businesses and their owners, understand their needs and provide tailored long-term solutions to meet their goals.
PCA has had professionals in Madrid, Milan and Paris for several years. The team head is based in London and covers the UK. The group is looking to expand into Switzerland as a new market.
In PCA, you will work with top-tier professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank across a broad range of sectors and product disciplines. You will work with some of the most successful business people in the Switzerland.  You would be responsible for the origination and execution of transactions with this client base.

Key responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
  • Developing client relationships in partnership with both sector specialists in the CIB and relationship managers in the Private Bank
  • Originating investment banking transactions with this client base
  • Managing the "full cycle" of transactional execution as the Client Executive for the client
  • Assisting the Private Bank in gathering assets from the sales proceeds of transactions (e.g. a sale of the company or an IPO)
  • Managing a very small, dedicated junior team
You will gain exposure to IB coverage professionals in other offices worldwide, as well as work with various product coverage teams worldwide.
The successful candidate will possess or demonstrate the following personal and professional attributes:
  • Strong investment banking experience (i.e. ED level)
  • Relationships with private Family and Entrepreneur-owned companies in Switzerland
  • Fluency in German, English and preferably French
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
  • The ability to work across multiple lines of business seamlessly (Private Banking, M&A, DCM, ECM, Markets, Global Corporate Bank)
  • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills (including Excel modelling and valuation work)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, in a highly organized manner, and have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and to develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to manage projects independently and be ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner and to navigate across different industries
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and interest in dealing with companies that are owner-managed
  • Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment
  • Excellent understanding of financial, legal and reputational risks facing large integrated banks in today's environment
