We are seeking a motivated, self-starter who has a minimum of 5 years technology-based experience and a working knowledge of setting up Mainframe test platforms for SQA/UAT Testers.  The Application Developer will work on a broad array of critical issues including automation, system integration, application configuration, environment availability, and interoperability.  Execute and track the test cycle end-to-end and coordinate scheduling of batch, ad-hoc, and other testing activities for the SQA/UAT/AD teams.  Participate in status meetings and provide regular updates on project and release batch cycle run times and environment health checks.  The individual will work closely with developers, project managers, network engineers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Environment Build and Refresh

  • Create and maintain JCL Libraries across 8 platforms/32 environment (PROC and PARM/DICT control cards) for each new quarterly/monthly release. 
  • Update control cards, library members, and preserve file cuts, as needed, to maintain environment integrity.
  • Support CAST process and apply account files during environment refresh process
  • Execute Environment Refresh activities, including but not limited to data-masking, updating processing date tables, generating and sending driver files, applying recent file cuts, loading accounts (pare down or full), and executing CICS jobs in Mainframe.

 Batch Processing

  • Promote/Demote and validate ChangeMan requests (pending appropriate approval) for QA code deployment. 
  • Cycle preparation to include set-up of jobs and submission of file inputs for upcoming batch runs
  • Execute jobs for batch processing and monitor to completion.
  • Troubleshoot/triage abends or job failures and work closely with AD/Prod support/Test teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Provide all BAU or special request outputs to downstream applications and co-suppliers via file transmission or email notification.
  • Provide on-call, weekend, and ad-hoc support for Break/Fix requests or urgent defect and escalation, as well as special Standalone requests (i.e. server migrations, file exports, data refreshes, etc). 
  • Experience with Windows, Mainframe platforms, and JAVA
  • Good development/scripting skills JCL, JAVA, VSAM, CICS, NDM / FTP, TSO/ISPF, Control-M, Change Man, and ZEKE scheduler) (or CA-7 or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of setting up and scheduling end-to-end testing environments.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management and Software Release Management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of JIRA, SharePoint, and other task management tools/systems
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
