Description
 

The Securitized Products business is part of the Corporate & Investment Bank within JP Morgan.  The business actively engages in the following business activities:

  • Acquires or originates, warehouses, and subsequently securitizes consumer and financial assets

  • Makes markets in existing securitized financial assets

  • Provides financing of consumer financial products

  • Underwrites securitizations for third party customers

  • Structures and trades in derivative products linked to securitized products

 

The Product Control function within IB Finance and Business Management is responsible for:

  • The region/product cut of the books and records and control environment

  • Primary face to the business

  • Production and consolidation of actual and estimate P&L

  • Analysis of estimate to actual breaks

  • Produce and review daily P&L commentary

  • Control oversight and integrity of the financial statements and transaction end-to-end control

  • Ensuring accuracy in reporting of risk positions

 

 Position Description

The Associate role will be primarily supporting the Global Market Risk team in the ongoing monitoring and reporting of risk exposures for the business.  Responsibilities include

  • Provide management and oversight of a team of 3 or 4 employees engaged in the risk report production process

  • Conduct investigations of breaks between Front Office Signed-off Risk and Limit Utilizations, reporting controls, and changes in risk profiles in order to maintain accurate and complete reporting information.

  • Ability to understand end to end processes and drive change to improve end to end efficiencies.

  • Ensure a sound control environment, through ongoing review of controls, documentation, and questioning of the status quo.

  • Develop and engage in strong working relationships across multiple functions through normal business operations and projects.

  • Partner with upstream functions to route out data quality issues at the source.



  • Strong product control  / market risk background highly preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial products such as loans and derivatives would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work across various functions and levels.
  • Strong Technology skills (Excel / Access, VBA / SQL programming, Tableau and other reporting platforms)
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and achieve effective process efficiencies.
