This successful candidate will play the key role supporting Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries and the Risk function within the Commercial Banking (CB) business of the firm. As a trusted compensation manager, this candidate will be an advisor to HR business partners; combining in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, understanding of the business needs and market landscape, and associated detailed analysis/models.
 
 Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support and advice on compensation related activities, including new hire offers, promotions, transfers, budget allocation/forecasting and top talent retention.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of business issues and priorities; effectively analyze and diagnose issues; provide clear advice and recommendations to help partners make informed and sound comp-related decisions.
  • Participate in compensation surveys; conduct analyses based on internal and external benchmarking data to support business’ rationale for compensation decision and strategy
  • Lead and facilitate end-to-end annual compensation planning for HR partners and business
  • Align with HR business partners to identify opportunities, improve existing compensation programs, policies and processes to ensure they support business strategy and help drive performance.
  • Actively participate in firm-wide projects involving compensation, including but not limited to policy reviews, changes in compensation practices, and systems development.
 
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years relative HR and/or compensation experience
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proven consulting skills; ability to drive business goals  
  • Ability to execute and sustain operational excellence and to develop controls
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cultivate strong partnerships with HR partners, business clients and colleagues
  • Well-developed analytical skills; strong planning and project management skills
  • Exceptional systems skills; Business Objects and Web intelligence / Desktop Intelligence skills preferred.  Advanced MS Excel skills required
