Business Overview:
Global Trade provides its clients with Financing, risk mitigation and processing of cross border import and export activity through a multiple of products and solutions.  Operating in 39 locations across 28 countries we offer Documentary and Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Collections, Supply Chain Finance and loans, which is delivered by an Operations force of circa 650 people globally.  We have established a distributed operating model with regional hubs, global processing centres and a network of branches. Trade Finance is a credit based product which is highly complex and requires a significant amount of expertise. Whether we are providing a small value rental guarantee or $100mm financing transaction, our focus is on providing a first class service to our clients.
 
Team Description:

The EMEA Trade team is a hub and bespoke model. Trade Product specialists are located in Bournemouth with further specialists offering support within European branches and service delivery windows. It consists of a Support, Production, Document Preparation and Client Service teams.

 

Team Responsibilities: 

  • To undertake various complex processing functions within the department covering all Trade products and support services handled
  • To adhere to all designated deadlines and risk & controls
  • To work with minimum supervision and to act on own initiative to identify tasks to be undertaken on the unit
  • Strict adherence to all relevant Process and Procedures
  • To investigate, analyse and resolve complex enquiries/requirements to provide required solutions in the operating environment
  • To ensure that all tasks allocated to them are handled in a timely and accurate manner, exercising sound judgment based upon knowledge and experience, at all times.
  • To focus upon transactions within their current specialist area but have the ability to move to other disciplines as and when required

 

 

 

 

 

  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven teamwork and administrative skills is essential 
  • Strong attention to detail whilst handling high volumes of tasks is also essential
  • Accurate and quality focused
  • Knowledge of all Trade Products would be preferable
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure controlled by deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail utilizing effective organizational skills
  • Poficient in all Microsoft Office Applications, expertise in Excel and Powerpoint advantageous
  • Ability to make decisions and utilize all available resources and tools to minimize corporate and client risk
  •  
  • A good working knowledge of Trade Finance products (e.g. Import/Export/Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees) is preferable. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills – in English is essential.  Language skills would be an advantage. A proven skill in teamwork and providing first class customer service is essential.  An understanding of the CIB business would be an advantage
