The Credit Support Sr. Specialist is a part of Wholesale Loan Operations (WLO).  The Specialist is a client facing role supporting all Commercial Banking sub-lines of business (MMBSI, CCBSI, REB, CDB, and ABL) that will be responsible for the end to end process of issuing letter of credit product, educating external clients and internal partners on various aspects and requirements.
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage the process for issuing letters of credit including oversight, execution and ensure all requirements are met from a risk, regulatory  and collateral perspective 
  • Manage activities through frequent communication with external clients and internal business partners and act as a single point of contact throughout the letter of credit process
  • Ensure deliverables are met and hold owners accountable by managing issues, escalations and error resolution
  • Ensure letter of credit client onboarding is complete and up-to-date
  • Demonstrate creative problem solving and solid judgment/decision making
  • Ownership of internal communication and status updates to all involved parties
  • Manage external client and internal partner expectations
  • Manage clear expectations and understanding by establishing clear timelines and managing letter of credit requirements
  • Accountable for the management of the letter of credit receivables
Required Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience or knowledge of loan/product operations or a credit/lending environment
  • Ability to interact with clients and people at all levels within the organization
  • Independent, self-motivated with an ability to adapt and be flexible in a team environment under a high pressured situation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage external client relationships and navigate complex structures.
  • Strong client focus and ability to partner with various internal groups
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience in financial services, if possible Corporate/Commercial Banking
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and leverage internal resources
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong client focus and ability to partner with various internal groups and client coverage
  • Experience with related credit systems such as ICRD, Loan IQ, Deal Works, GTS inquiry, etc.
