CIB Quantitative Research (QR) provides quantitative support for the Investment Bank lines of businesses and key corporate areas. As we continue to transform our model risk management and model development practices across the coverage areas, the Model Risk Methodologies group is responsible for centralized model risk reporting, establishing consistent standards and practices, and building out common analytics and toolsets. Part of the wider QR organization, the group also has a significant outward facing role in its partnership with Model Governance, Model Review, Market Risk, Valuation Control Group and Technology. The team is seeking talented individuals to fill a variety of roles with quantitative, commercial, software development, governance and control-oriented skillsets.
Job Summary:
The QR Model Risk Methodologies team is looking for a controls focussed Business Manager to drive consistent model development practices, to coordinate compliance with control standards and to help build out a new framework for model risk management in partnership with other groups. The role consists of:
  • Running the agenda for the Model Risk Methodologies steering forums.
  • Working closely with other QR groups to shape the control framework for managing model risk and to implement consistent model risk practices across the groups.
  • Coordinate across the QR groups to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
  • Help QR to prepare for senior level stakeholder meetings.
  • Set up quality control around Model Risk Reporting.
  • Represent QR at control forums and during internal audits.
  • Participate in generating data or information in response to ad-hoc internal and external requests relating to model risk.
  • Project management and coordination of cross-QR deliverables.
Required Skills:
  • Experience as a control officer or in business management
  • Experience in writing internal policies and procedures and process evaluation and documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • An analytical, problem-solving and detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to effect change and a strong sense of initiative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience establishing new control processes, preferably in a growing organization
  • Project management experience
  • Experience presenting at senior level stakeholder meetings
  • Affinity with quantitative research, models or model validation
  • Affinity with software systems
