Job Description:
The CIB Global Regulatory Risk and Controls Team is part of the wider CIB Controls department and has responsibility for providing oversight, leadership and management across the global CIB regulatory landscape.  The team’s remit covers:
  • Regulatory change
  • Designing, delivering, implementing and running regulatory operating models and implementing control frameworks and standards
  • Leading cross line of business regulatory projects
  • Product Owner for the CIB’s regulatory reporting obligations globally
  • Leading the CIB’s strategic transformational regulatory reporting program
This role is within the EMEA regulatory controls team which is responsible for providing control oversight, leadership and management across a range of cross line of business regulatory obligations, with a specific focus on regulations emanating from Europe or impacting the EMEA region and driving regulatory reporting global strategic solutions. 
The role will have responsibility supporting EMIR regulatory reporting governance & oversight for a significant body of deliverables which will deliver measurable value to the business and have a positive impact on our regulatory risk profile. This role provides both a breadth and depth of execution and ownership across the CIB CAO organisation with extensive cross functional and cross business exposure and the opportunity to creatively problem-solve on a broad scale
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership in running cross LOB Governance forums
  • Executive messaging to various levels of the organisation
  • Control Officer reviews including potential regulatory reporting events with cross LOB impact analysis tracking & risk based deep dives
  • EMIR regulatory SME, becoming LOB contact for EMIR reporting interpretation
  • Industry participation by representing JPMC on EMIR regulatory reporting forums & DTCC relationship management
  • Regulatory request responses, co-ordinating with LOBs and consolidation into JPMC response (with compliance) to the regulator
  • Drive programs of work to address EMIR controls issues and improve data quality across LOBs
  • Proactive review of EMIR and other regulatory KRIs and metrics (in conjunction with the wider global team) to identify areas for deep dive reviews
  • Conduct deep dive reviews into EMIR regulatory issues, ensure findings are properly tracked and resolved to drive reduction in EMIR regulatory risk
  • Impact assess and manage new and evolving EMIR requirements: ensure ownership, management and delivery of ongoing implementations and their controlled transition into production
  • Manage key stakeholder and client engagement  including, Compliance, LOB contacts, Technology and Global Controls
  • Take ownership of issues in order to propose and drive organisational solutions to meet deadlines
  • Delivering on the regulatory commitments with robust controls
  • Addressing high profile, high impact, cross line of business regulatory demands
  • Interlock with regulatory change teams and contribute the controls perspective across multiple regulatory change initiatives and projects, including GTR
  • Candidate should have a demonstrable understanding of the regulatory reporting requirements under EMIR and a broad understanding of the changing regulatory environment and its impacts to JPMC & the industry
  • Ideally the candidate will have an understanding of the products and markets in which the CIB operate
  • Ideally have a good appreciation of Regulatory Reporting and be comfortable in critiquing it’s design & controls
  • Have experience in change with focus on delivery and controls
  • Have experience of working in a control environment and designing and delivering control solutions
  • Team player with ability to build & maintain productive working relationships with colleagues globally at all levels and across functions in order to achieve results
  • Able to operate globally across regions, businesses and functions with demonstrable strong negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills to drive delivery across a variety of teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly communicate complex issues
  • Ability to interpret issues raised, prioritize and communicate to senior management and other key stakeholders regarding resolution plans and expectations
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Excellent organization & planning skills
  • Proactive and creative problem solving with business process reengineering experience
  • Deals comfortably with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Able to demonstrate product knowledge in at least one asset class, including the trade lifecycle from risk management platforms through to settlement and confirmation functions
