Summary
 
The Finance Analytics and Efficiencies (‘FAE’) team  manage key strategic finance initiatives, partner with GIM finance teams to identify and execute on  initiatives and efficiencies, enhance governance processes, quality standards and data consistency and assist with the implementation of cross line of business strategic programmes.
 
As a part of the team a successful candidate would play an active role in supporting these efforts and would be expected to contribute to and take ownership of their delivery.  This could be acting as project manager in planning, gathering requirements, analyzing current state, designing solutions and reporting on status; or taking ownership for building solutions to streamline processes or improve the consistency and controls of finance processes. 
 
 
This person will act both independently and as part of the FAE team to support GIM Finance. This role includes interaction with all of the GIM finance teams to understand their processes, identify potential areas for enhancements or assess the impacts of projects. This person will further be required to comprehend and document complex processes quickly, understand the information flows and dependencies and be able to manipulate large volumes of data efficiently and accurately. 
 
Part of this role is taking ownership and responsibility for the European data feeds into the finance reporting platform.  The individual will be responsible for coordination of deliverables across the teams, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of information, acting a primary contact, responding to queries and improving the process.     
 
The successful candidate will need to be highly analytical, demonstrate strong Excel and Access skills, and the ability to deliver process improvements.  Strong verbal and written communication skills, influencing and relationship building skills, as well as being able to drive the agenda are key attributes for this role.  The candidate will be part of a global team and will be expected to assist in developing the knowledge and skills within the team.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Active participation in FAE team initiatives as business analysis or project manager
  • Identifying and executing upon opportunities to improve efficiency and controls across finance
  • Responsible for Europe feeds to Fusion and relationship with data providers
  • Promote the teams services and drive the agenda
  • Represent finance in cross functional initiatives
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining strong data governance and access controls
  • Develop the team
 
This position reports to the GIM FAE Manager and is an associate level position depending on skills and experience.
 
 
Qualifications & Skills
 
• Strong technical skills: advanced Excel and Access abilities. Knowledge of other tools and programming a plus
• Project management, business analysis, process improvement experience
• Excellent analytical skills (knowledge of finance and accounting concepts advantageous).
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or in a subject of a technical nature is preferred.
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
• Exemplary communication, influencing, relationship building, and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of finance or investment managements systems advantageous
• Highly motivated with ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Team player with ability to be respected as a trusted partner with the Business, Finance and P&A Teams.
