Department Description:

Business Support Management (BSM) is a function within CIB Finance & Business Management.  The group is responsible for many levels of administrative and control-focused support to our CIB businesses.  This includes, but is not limited to oversight and management of Administrative Assistants and general support of day to day business functions and controls.

 

The team interacts heavily with multiple lines of business (primarily Banking, Risk and Treasury Services), LOB Business Managers, CIB North America and Global counterparts, and Internal Business Partners such as CIB Expense Management, Business Change Management, Compliance, Human Resources, and Technology.

 
Roles and Responsibilities:

This position will be accountable for managing a large team of administrative staff (30+) in support one or more of the above LOB’s.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years in a senior leadership position with demonstrated success in leading productive and motivated work teams and managing large scope projects across multiple LOB’s and regions. 

 

The position also includes a strong Human Resource emphasis and experience in the field is preferred.  The candidate must demonstrate highly effective communication and relationship building performance with all organizational levels. 

 

Prior experience in an Investment Banking or Financial Services organization is preferred.

 
Primary accountabilities include:
  • Management of Executive Administrative Staff across multiple lines of business in Banking, Risk and Treasury Services.
  • Lead day to day team activities and manage coverage
  • Develop and implement meaningful performance metrics
  • Motivate individual and team performance
  • Develop team line leaders
  • Enforce a dynamic control/ compliance environment and continually mitigate risk in business processes
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with internal business partners across multiple LOB’s in the Corporate Investment Bank (both in North America and Globally)
  • Create and implement large/targeted scope projects in support of internal client and employee needs
  • Provide thought leadership in strategic direction to improve global consistency, productivity and leverage to the business
  • Build consensus around key initiatives
  • Advocate for the administrative staff needs
  • Lead the performance management process for the admin management team
  • Participate in compensation planning
  • Actively role model to continue to promote a highly ethical and professional corporate culture.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Human Resources and/or experience managing large teams is preferred
  • Prior experience in an Investment Banking or Financial Services organization is preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong and independent problem solving skills
  • Customer service / Client facing experience
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to listen well and influence others
  • A self-starter who is organized and consistently meets deliverables
