Description of the Team and Role:

The Firm’s Corporate Treasury function and the Chief Investment Office (together referred to as “Treasury/CIO”) manage the Firm’s balance sheet.  This includes activities such as:
  • Deploying the Firm’s excess liquidity
  • Managing the Firm’s funding and liabilities
  • Managing the Firm’s structural interest rate and foreign exchange risk
  • Managing the Firm’s liquidity risk and its regulatory compliance
The Treasury/CIO Chief Data Office (CDO) is responsible for ensuring high-quality data is available to support these activities.  The Treasury/CIO Chief Data Office (CDO) implements firmwide data management standards and focuses on aligning T/CIO's data strategy to critical business initiatives, improving data capabilities and managing data compliance.  The mission of the group is to provide a data strategy which will allow for better client service, more efficient and effective risk management, as well as operational & technological efficiencies.  Our clients are primarily T/CIO Risk, Finance, Strategy and Operations teams.  
This role sits within the Execution Team within T/CIO CDO. The Execution Team focus on T/CIO’s own Execution platforms (i.e. trade booking, risk and financial reporting) rather than the firmwide Aggregation platforms that T/CIO also relies on. The team’s role is to ensure that the system architecture and controls within T/CIO fully support business requirements for data functionality and integrity. T/CIO Execution platform data is used for both Financial and Risk reporting within T/CIO and also feeds downstream to firmwide aggregation platforms such as LRI and ALMOND.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Liaise with business and technology partners across Risk and Finance to define strategic data requirements for T/CIO’s 2018 move to a shared JPM Corporate data structure.
  • Analyze data architecture and make recommendations for strategic resolutions
  • Manage data quality controls (proactive and reactive) applied to T/CIO Execution platforms.
  • Design and implement data control rules and processes
  • Lead resolution of data quality issues highlighted by controls
  • Run business steering committees and working groups to coordinate data agendas
  • Liaise with London and Hong Kong based Risk and Finance functions on global CDO initiatives
  • Support onboarding of new processes such as Daily P&L and Month End Financial reporting
Experience Required:
  • 10 years experience in a major financial services organization
  • 5 years in an analytical or data focused role
  • Degree in Finance or related field
Skills Required:
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Good time management skills and attention to deadlines
  • Knowledge of reporting processes and controls
  • Experience in a Finance, Middle Office or Chief Data Office role desirable
  • Securities and Derivatives product knowledge desirable
