The CB Oversight and Control (O&C) team's primary function is to implement an effective control framework across Commercial Banking (CB), looking within and across the lines of business, to identify and remediate control issues with a sense of urgency, regardless of the source.  The CB O&C team partners with all other control disciplines, adding an additional line of defense supporting Compliance, Risk and Audit.  The CB O&C team works in partnership on the development of new, and oversight of existing, control functions and protocols throughout the firm and provides a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real-time problem detection and escalation. 


The CB Control Officer Senior Associate role resides within the Oversight and Control team and will support the ongoing development of the CB Client Fraud Prevention Program and effective maintenance of the Risk Event Database (RED) program.


This role will support the management, tracking and reporting of work streams in support of CB Client Fraud prevention.  The Control Officer Senior associate, in time, will become a subject matter expert with respect to CB Client Fraud and will work with the CB Client Fraud Lead and cross LOB/firm operations, business, product, cyber and technology partners in the development, execution and measurement of programs to mitigate CB client fraud across electronic payments, check and card.  This role will also support the O&C team’s RED program, inclusive of the production, quality assurance (QA) and presentation of RED reporting metrics to CB senior management.    




  • Maintain CB Fraud Prevention and RED Reporting delivery calendar, establish hard delivery dates with appropriate time frames for analyzation and QA
  • Maintain the tracking and reporting of status for CB Client Fraud prevention program and its various work streams
  • Production of weekly and monthly fraud reporting metrics
  • Organize and support cross LOB/firm engagements to identify, discuss and escalate fraud trends
  • Review, assess and maintain all Processes & Procedures (P&P) including client facing communications with respect to CB client fraud to ensure it is reflective of current fraud trends and bank practices
  • Support of the Post-Fraud Banker engagement and reporting process
  • Provide depth for CB Client Fraud prevention lead as central escalation point for Client fraud within CB
  • Produce, QA and present monthly RED reporting metrics to senior management
  • Review, assess and maintain all Processes & Procedures, Forms and Job Aids for the RED program
  • Identify and articulate trends found in fraud and risk event reporting 
  • Evaluate delivery schedule, reporting deliveries and forums, making recommendations for improvements and efficiencies    
  • Maintain both CB Fraud Program and RED Guidance and Resources intranet sites and content
  • Develop positive working relationships with partners to maintain and open environment for collaboration, trend identification and issue solving/resolution 
  • Lead, or participate in, other Control and partner initiatives or special projects as assigned
  • Support, mentor and assist in the development of more junior staff within the team 



  • Financial Services experience with an emphasis on risk, control, and regulatory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel - including macros, PowerPoint); MS Project, MS Access and Visio is a plus
  • Process mapping is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong knowledge/background of internal control principles, operational risk management, audit, compliance, or operations
  • Demonstrates a natural curiosity to understand the cause of particular outcomes and the origin and definitions of data that may be relied upon
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines within a team environment
  • Collaborative team player able to develop meaningful and effective working relationships

·         3-6 years of related experience and an undergraduate or graduate school degree, including major course work in accounting, finance, business, or a combination of education and/or experience that would demonstrate the capability to perform the duties of the position. Risk and Control, Compliance and/or Credit background a plus.
