The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.



Description

 

The Securitized Products business is part of the Corporate & Investment Bank within JP Morgan.  The business actively engages in the following business activities:

  • Acquires or originates, warehouses, and subsequently securitizes consumer and financial assets

  • Makes markets in existing securitized financial assets

  • Provides financing of consumer financial products

  • Underwrites securitizations for third party customers

  • Structures and trades in derivative products linked to securitized products

 

The Product Control function within IB Finance and Business Management is responsible for:

  • The region/product cut of the books and records and control environment

  • Primary face to the business

  • Production and consolidation of actual and estimate P&L

  • Produce and review daily P&L commentary

  • Control oversight and integrity of the financial statements and transaction end-to-end control

  • Ensuring accuracy in reporting of risk positions

  • Capital computation and analysis

 

 Position Description

 

The role will be the primary Finance contact for one of the largest revenue generating business within North America SPG. Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a team who are responsible for the daily preparation, analysis and reporting of P&L and Risk. Requires daily interaction with Front Office traders, Market Risk Coverage, Credit Risk and Middle Office trade support. 

  • Provide financial oversight over the month-end and quarter end close working closely with the Financial Control hub in Delaware.

  • Understand accounting treatment for an array of products and ensure compliance with appropriate corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Have the ability to interpret and adapt to changes in regulatory environment while maintaining a focus on accounting rules and controls.

  • Understand importance of balance sheet optimization, liquidity and other restraints currently facing the business.

  • Prepare regular analyses of financial statements and review with business.

  • Ensure a sound control environment.


  • Strong accounting background highly preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial products such as loans and derivatives would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities and detail oriented
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
