The Corporate Technology (CT) organization develops applications and provides technology support for corporate functions across JPMorgan Chase, including Global Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, and all functions within the Corporate Administrative Office (CAO).

CT teams are aligned with corporate partners’ evolving technology needs and the firm’s ever expanding technology controls agenda.

A top CT priority is building scalable corporate systems. Teams focus on:

  • Responding to the evolving regulatory environment and helping to meet the firm’s regulatory commitments by addressing internal and external commitments
  • Advancing the firm’s Roadmap programs -- Single Sourcing of data, Architecture Convergence, and Rationalization of Platforms
  • Adopting industry leading technologies to support best-in-class business capabilities for high performance computing and data storage solutions
  • Driving innovation across the firm’s corporate technology portfolio, increasing efficiencies through process automation, and Agile application development, with an emphasis on user experience and shorter development cycles
  • Investing in security & controls for cyber, access/entitlements uplift, data protection and application resiliency

Workforce Technology (WT) is the central steward for the design, build, and asset management of the firm's Human Capital technology across all lines of business and global regions. In partnership with our HR business partners and service providers we deliver solutions that meet the requirements of our key clients - JP Morgan employees.  Workforce Technology provides technology support for staffing and on-boarding, employee records, payroll, talent management, compensation, benefits, learning, employee and manager service, workforce planning and analytics, and back office call center operations.


Workforce Technology Planning Systems & Platform manages a diverse portfolio which includes advanced analytics, planning systems and information management.


2017 priorities for Workforce Technology include modernizing the reporting and analytics platform, and providing the capability to integrate, process and analyze large amounts of semi-structured and unstructured data in an efficient manner.


The Chief Information Architect (IA), will work as part of the Workforce Technology leadership team to achieve a number of strategic priorities related to data warehousing and big data technologies.  The Chief Information Architect will work with all HR functions delivery of artifacts such as the Business Entity Model, State Model, Controlled Vocabulary and Communication Contracts and govern their implementation and traceability from Logical and Physical schemas.

The Information Architect will be considered the Subject Matter Expert on Data and Information Architecture and Management working closely and collaboratively with the project development teams, ensuring that the design is implementable and that delivery is consistent with the agreed design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating and driving the Workforce Information Architecture process, providing Workforce  Technology policing of IA principles, standards and policies
  • Championing design traceability and provenance framework (allowing audit-trail based data quality control) across all owned information flows
  • Ensuring all cross-management areas, regulatory data standards and data requirements are addressed
  • Collaborating across Human Resources and Workforce technology domains. 
  • Collaborating with the Corporate Technology IA and firm-wide Architecture group to develop consistent, accurate and complete UML-based artefacts
  • Creating LDM taxonomy of workforce entities according to business requirements, subject to HR Chief Data Officer, CT Chief Information Architect and Chief Data Office (CDO) governance
  • Working with the Chief Data Office for the implementation of Data Management standards
  • Working with the HR Workforce Analytics and Data Management teams
  • Developing and maintaining communication models between Fortresses and Components
  • Building and leading a team of Information Architects across locations and domains

Strong experience of several major technology implementation projects, ideally with a strong data orientation

  • Knowledge of  various Data Architecture options including ODS, Data Lake, Data Warehousing, OLTP, Data Vault and OLAP
  • Strong knowledge of Data Management technologies including Oracle, Hadoop, Cassandra, Informatica, Pentaho, SOLR/Lucene, nifi.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of Data Modelling and Meta-modelling (preferably with UML) or use of alternative Data Modelling tools such as Erwin, Power Designer and MagicDraw
  • Experience of identifying and architecting alternative data integration patterns to support the requirements
  • Knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modelling
  • Experience in creating, contributing to and reviewing Architecture and Development artefacts such as
  •  Ability to collaborate with business teams in order to understand, translate, review and playback requirements into Logical Data Models, Interface Specifications, Taxonomies and Controlled Vocabularies
  • Understand development methodologies particularly in a lean/agile environment 
  • Agile Architecture and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Continuous Integration & Testing (CIT) environments
  • Automated Build and Release environments
  • Design for Change approaches i.e. designing non-breaking solutions to continually evolving requirements
  • Database Management Technology Standards, such as SQL, DBMS Partitioning, Index Creation, Physical Data Models, RDF, SPARQL
  • Construction of Domain Specific Languages and mapping into Target Specific Languages
  • Effective communication and facilitation with Business & Technology stakeholders to translate requirements into software  that represent progress towards a target state of best engineering practice, simplification and standardization
  • Ability to unambiguously communicate through multiple channels such as Presentations, Word Documents , Workshops and Agile Development Meetings
  • Collaborate with the business technical teams, exchanging and transferring technical knowledge, developing and evolving standards, guidelines, etc.
