The team

Pyramid is the strategic platform for processing and risk managing equity derivatives in the Investment Bank.  The trade processing suite is responsible for trade capture, event & position management, and feeds to downstream systems such as accounting and legal documentation.  Products range from high volume listed products to highly complex over-the-counter structured derivatives.


The platform uses a range of technologies including Java, C#/.net, C++, and Sybase/SQL on Windows and Linux platforms.  This is an opportunity to join an award winning technology team with excellent business sponsorship to deliver revenue enhancing technology and industry wide transformation.


The role


Equity Derivatives Trade Capture & Processing Rapid Application Developer (RAD)


This team is dedicated to the rapid development of applications for Front Office and Middle Office users. This team is fully integrated within the core development team to ensure that all developments are in line with the technology strategy and that we ensure proper controls are in place around RAD development.


The candidate will be a subject matter expert in derivatives and have a solid experience in financial markets, with good business analyst skills and a proven track record of deliveries.  


The candidate will also have a track record of delivering Front Office / Middle Office solution and will have application design skills (Service oriented architecture, GUI design, data structure)


This specific role will be to have full ownership of the RAD applications in APAC. This includes the prioritization and development of new applications, as well as the consolidation and improvement of the existing application inventory.


The role is based in Hong Kong but responsibilities will be both regional and global. Cross-regional partnership across technology and the business is vital.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sole responsibility for the APAC MO RAD agenda

  • Work with the APAC Middle Office management to prioritize the work slate

  • Communication of progress to senior management

  • Gather business requirements

  • Liaise with technology and operations globally to understand potential re-use

  • Develop, Test, Deploy applications

  • Adherence to key control/regulatory/audit standards

  • Solid SQL and stored procedures

  • Datamodelling

  • Development Lifecycle and Controls


 Desirable Technical Skills

  • Java

  • Market Data Systems

  • Web Services


 Essential Non-Technical Skills

  • Understanding of derivatives products and their lifecycle. Equity derivatives experience preferred but experience of other asset classes is fine.

  • Self-starter who is capable of managing the agenda end-to-end.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Good communication skills.
