Global Reference

Data Operations (GRDO) is a centralized operations team responsible for managing enterprise reference data leveraged by LOBs and Corporate functions to enable robust financial reporting and risk management.


Finance reference Data (FRD) creates and manages the common, structure data elements leveraged across JPMC to enable processing, interpretation & reporting of transactions for management & legal purpose.


Position summary:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of an FRD Operations, Projects & Client services team
  • Responsible to provide support to manager(s), monitoring quantity and quality of work.
  • Should be able to manage a range of reference data maintenance activities in different applications.
  • Supervises complex customer requests and problem resolution, working independently with internal and/or external clients.
  • Accountable for reference data integrity and developing quality control processes.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction and coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
  • The role expectation is to lead a team of Associates and Assistant Vice Presidents with the operations. The candidate will need to drive key operational excellence areas to improve delivery and client service.

Responsibilities include:


Process Management:

  • Manage client and stakeholder expectations through clearly defined SLA. Responsible for publishing accurate Daily & Monthly of all the process & project related specific Metrics.
  • Manage Client relationship to drive constant improvements in quality of supplied content.
  • Build effective controls and Business continuity plans that ensures seamless delivery on product/client expectations
  • Initiate and drive improvement projects related to service and quality of data
  • Drive opportunities for efficiency gain and implement them

Product Support:

  • Work on strategic initiatives that would lead to coverage expansion, quality improvements and or enhances competitive advantage.
  • Drive execution on global initiatives such as, Strategic & Finance Target Platform projects, etc. that strengthens & streamlines the current reference data processes
  • Act as a key contact for all aspects related to the process, stay updated with all project initiatives and its related changes.
  • Represent the reference data operations group in related project discussions.
  • Facilitate problem solving on data and product issues, including database infrastructure and maintenance procedures

Team Management: Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Performance management: Track performance, Performance appraisal, manages staff related issues and escalated if necessary to the appropriate level.
  • Staff development: Motivate, support and develop staff to enhance and maintain the ability to adapt to the changing requirements of a continuously evolving business environment.
  • Maintain a stable operational environment: Clear allocation of duties, manage shifts, and sustain operational effectiveness, adherence to policies and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively within and outside a global team.

Research and analysis:

·         Monitor and review the major processes and/or those procedures with a high impact in FRD to identify and escalate potential issues.


Qualifications

Graduate/Post Graduate degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance over all 15+ years professional experience, 10+ years of People Management experience


Personal Competencies

  • Knowledge of Reference Data is a plus
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and multi task
  • Must have strong issue resolution and planning skills
  • Extensive experience with MS Access, Excel and SQL is preferred
  • Flexible and adaptable to new challenges
  • Must demonstrate superior communication skills. Able to communicate effectively across all levels with clients, internal partners and senior management, both verbally and in writing
