The Reference Data Operations Finance Reference Data team manages and maintains reference data to ensure that our customers, employees, and lines of business are in adherence with firm standards and required regulations.

One of our top priorities is to help the Firm move toward a more integrated data management strategy.  The mandate of Reference Data Operations is to manage reference data across the enterprise, establish firmwide reference data governance processes and quality standards, manage all reference data operations teams, and partner with the lines of business to drive alignment to firmwide reference data standards.  Our businesses and corporate groups rely on reference data to facilitate and execute transactions, support our clients, identify potential risks, and meet regulatory requirements.
The Financial Reference Data (FRD) team manages reference data operations and projects for financial reference data (the Data Domains for general ledger account/chart of accounts, legal entities/internal parties, business unit, etc.) and reference data for the Product and Services Data Domain.  This position is to be the Testing Manager for specific FRD Projects in support of Finance and Risk, including Reference Data Operations strategy and the Finance & Risk Roadmap.  Our Testing approach can be Waterfall, Agile or a combination of both processes. Many of the projects will be focused on legal entity/internal parties reference data. It is a blend of a Business Analysis role and a Project Manager role.
 
We are building out the capacity of the team as our workload expands due to Brexit and new initiatives such as Reference Data Hierarchy Platform (RDHP), as well as changes in what Tech expects our project testing responsibilities to be.
Responsibilities
The key aspect of the role is develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts, to provide a warranty that projects will be deployed successfully to deliver required functionality.
Other aspects of the role are:
  • Create and manage project plans: execution, project reporting
  • Obtain and document business requirements by interacting with all stakeholders across functions and LOBs
  • Write User Stories, and contribute towards organizing these into Themes and Epics
  • Assist with defining and documenting operating models
  • Generate process flow diagrams and other required documentation where applicable
  • Conduct data analysis to support recommendations and necessary action items
  • Relate application functionality to data used and how it is stored in various tables in the databases
  • Assist with solutioning the best way to approach requirements from application and data perspectives
  • Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with clients, FRD Technology and Operations on the Design, Build, and Testing of requirements
  • Prepare project status reports
  • Support facilitation of Project Working Group meetings, typically weekly
  • Assist in managing overall project governance
  •  
The ideal candidate would have a graduate/post-graduate degree or equivalent, and overall 5+ years professional experience with 2+ years of project management experience.  Candidates should have a proven track record as a Testing Manager or equivalent.
  • Ability to handle multiple deliverables concurrently to deliver high quality results in committed timeframes
  • Partnership-oriented and team player with ability to communicate with all staff levels within and outside of own area
  • Self-starter with excellent leadership, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Strong data mining, problem solving and analytical skills with ability to summarize findings
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Access
  • Proven experience working with Technology to deliver projects
  • Familiarity with the Agile development methodology is high desirable
  • Experience with QC, ALM and other testing tools is a requirement
  • Familiarity with SAP, JPMC financial processes, and a solid understanding of reference data infrastructure including repositories and maintenance is highly desirable
