The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.
The CFS team is seeking a senior java developer with hands on experience in big data technology. Successful candidate will be part of a dynamic agile scrum team to develop and manage a large scale data lake with structured and non-structured data.
Key responsibilities:
  • Design and implement solutions to manage Big data platform, including data sourcing, extraction, transform, staging, and conforming.
  • Develop software solutions to utilize data to deliver faster insights, and software driven automation .
  • Identify and select technology solutions from multiple competing options, perform evaluations and proof-of-concepts, and finally make recommendations to management.
  • Ensure technical feasibility of the designs
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Ensure quality of deliverables, adhering to standards in areas of code quality, test coverage, monitoring, logging, exception management, operability, and others
  • Collaborate and build relationships with other development team members
  • Establish, and regularly update, multi-phase delivery roadmap
  • Java 8/J2EE distributed application development, REST, SpringBoot Framework, ORM (iBATIS) (6+ years)
  • Experience with messaging (JMS/MQ/Kafka) based integration and microservices (2+ years)
  • Hands-on Big Data ecosystem – HDFS/Hive/HBase/Solr, Spark-SQL/GraphX/MLlib (4+ years)
  • Programming with NoSQL/NPL a plus  (Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
  • RDBMS experience a plus (MySQL/MariaDB)
  • Data analytics experience a plus (R, Python, Scala)
  • Familiar with data lake concept and modeling
  • Familiar with modern infrastructure technology and architecture (cloud, virtualization, object stores, etc.)
  • Familiar with SDLC tools and agile development methodology
