The CIB Market Data Services (MDS) team is globally responsible for the management, delivery, support, inventory and controls for market data products, content, Infrastructure, ECNs and Direct Feeds used by the firm across all lines of business. Within Market Data Services is a dedicated project group with a unique mix of project skills and product experience who are deploying a new cloud based, communication and collaboration platform across the CIB.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will be part of a global team supporting the Symphony Project Team in delivering the key aspects of Symphony Adoption, robotics and automation. The role will involve working side-by-side with the project team and Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) to serve as the bridge between technology and the business.

Project Background

Leading financial institutions have invested in Symphony to develop a scalable, cloud-based and highly secure collaboration platform that will address the enterprise and compliance requirements for the financial services industry.
Symphony is an open-source; secure communication and workflow platform focused on the financial services market that aims to improve workplace productivity and an efficient and robust ecosystem for high-valued information exchange.
Symphony will bring together multiple dimensions to achieve a seamless user experience:
  • Communications including the capability to exchange messages, group chat and notifications, as well as future (roadmap) modalities such as voice, video and screen sharing
  • Content including enterprise content (such as research), external data feeds & posts (such as social media feeds, keyword alerts on user posts, relevant news headlines, etc.)
  • Community including private directories (such as a company directory) and public directories to enable discovery of resources such as people, content and apps

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The project manager will own a variety of tasks, including:

  • Strong analytical, prioritization and organizational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to fixed deadlines


Prior experience of project management in a financial services environment:

  • 5+ years of working in the Banking Industry
  • Experience working in different functional areas across Front Office, Technology and Operations
  • Experience leading requirements analysis, gathering and specifications
  • Experience in working and leading in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Evidence of strong stakeholder management skills
  • Evidence of strong leadership skills
