The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

Job Description

Lead the Banking Analytics team to provide senior management with insightful analysis to support decision making.  The 8 member team works closely with Business Management, P&A, HR and other functions to facilitate management reporting, analysis, and presentations.  The candidate will have significant exposure to senior management and various functional, sales and product group heads across the business which encompasses Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Treasury Services.

Core Responsibilities
  • Produce impactful, high quality analysis and presentations to help senior management determine business strategy and drive business results.
  • Partner with the Banking senior management to influence client planning agenda and facilitate collaboration across teams, products, and businesses
  • Provide end-to-end finance and analytical support to the Corporate Banking organization and help drive the global client agenda – competitive positioning, relationship status, opportunity identification, client prioritization, pipeline management, and performance metrics
  • Play a central role in the year-end banker evaluation process for Investment Banking Managing Directors, as well as the MD Promotion process, by providing insights into their financial performance and contributions
  • Represent the Banking organization on the firmwide client profitability forum and advance our objectives in order to have complete and accurate client level data
  • Champion and progress automation via adoption of business intelligence tools, such as Qlik
  • Support N. America Investment Banking industry coverage heads by providing timely and pertinent analysis of wallet and pipeline for weekly and monthly reporting and quarterly business reviews
  • Partner with technology to develop core Banking systems and applications
  • Participate in global and cross-regional initiatives as appropriate, building effective relationships and working closely with CIB F&BM colleagues
  • ED level professional with extensive experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong analytical and numeric skills, accounting knowledge, ability to interpret financial statements and MIS reports
  • Pro-active and problem solving mindset with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills and demonstrated ability to work across functions with project sponsors and balance the needs of multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; flexibility and ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated and effective under pressure
  • Ability to work well individually and partner effectively
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls with a view to improvement
  • Understanding of Banking, Markets, Asset Management and other wholesale products
