The Enterprise Compute Services (ECS) organization within GTI plays a critical role in providing and supporting global enterprise systems that host business applications at the core of JPMorgan Chase’s business.  These applications support the full range of businesses at the firm including wholesale, high volume consumer, and high net worth clients.



Key Functional Responsibilities


  •   Perform support functions for AIX Operating Systems
  •   Process client requests for Operating System software modifications
  •   Review system indicators (logs, dumps, error) logs for pro-active management of system problems.
  •   Implement changes as needed to support other towers and day-to-day operations.
  •   Work with operations to monitor, maintain and reboot systems to improve consistency and availability.
  •   Monitor / Tune system performance, working with performance engineering and capacity teams.
  •   Create / Implement tools for group efficiency..
  •   Support TL (Technology Level), SP (Service Pack) and OS Version upgrades.
  •  Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures & runbooks.


Key Operational Responsibilities

  •   Deliver Metrics to SWG team for reporting on incident management and change success.
  •    Incident Management / Problem Management for SWG, BAU work requests (EURC requests).
  •   Conduct scheduling for groups on call needs (day time / night time).
  •   Closely work with change team to understand the risk associated with the change.
  •   Work with IBM and other Independent Software Vendors on a regular basis.
  •   Perform problem analysis and resolution implementation to support client needs
  •   Provide regular management reports / analysis to senior management team regarding Incidents, Changes and requests.
  •   Implement appropriate tools and processes to automate repeated tasks
  •   Ensure availability and performance objectives, as required by clients and management, are maintained for operating systems and for system software components

 Key Interfaces:

  •   Interpersonal and communications skills are essential as the person will spend the majority of the time working in a team environment interacting with other towers like GNS, ICS SAN, Linux, Application Services, Automation, etc.,
  •   Participate / Mentor  junior associates.
  •   Participate in Team Meetings – Global & Virtual Meeting.\
  •   Complete Training Classes assigned on time to meet the development plans.
  •   Provide suggestions for improving process and work practices to provide better quality and/or efficiencies


  •  Minimum 5 years experience as AIX Systems Engineer
  •   Proficient with the following technologies; GPFS, PowerHA, VIOS, NIM, PowerVM
  •  Scripting (Python, Perl, KSH)
