The Change Manager role performs Change Review and Change Coordination and participates in all Change activities for all GTI changes globally. The position is expected to use creative thinking to develop stronger engagement with GTI towers and LOBs, and realize greater focus on risk mitigation and early collision identification, while expending less energy on the change process. This position is also involved in managing Restriction Periods used throughout the calendar year to evaluate and if appropriate reduce Change events during critical business periods or firm wide events.
This may involve running Restriction meetings to evaluate change events scheduled during Restriction periods and guides the cross impact analysis with the Restriction period owners. This position may also participate in any or all of the following Change functions:
  • Air Traffic Control and CAB (Change Advisory Board) functions for GTI changes;
  • Adherence and involvement in the Major Event Planning Calendar, especially in broadcasting the calendar and changes to the AP region;
  • Administration of Preauthorized-Defined Production Activities or PDPA' s for the GTI towers and Lines of Business;
  • Change Operations and Quality Checks, including review and analysis of changes that may have contributed to impacting incidents
  • Change Process support across the organization.
The position works within a global Change Operations team that is managed via SLA and that is constantly striving to ensure the right resources are doing the right things in order to eliminate unproductive activities while providing the best possible value to the firm and to the GTI towers.
Change Management provides standard methods and procedures that enable the firm to modify any part of its environment to improve products and services without impacting customers or customer-facing employees.
  • A Change consists of any installation or alteration of hardware, operating system, application software, procedures, and environmental facilities, which adds to, deletes from, or modifies the Service Delivery environment or its attached networks.
  • Change Management ensures appropriate coordination, communication, scheduling and approval of changes, especially to those who could be impacted by the introduction of a change into the environment.
  • Any activity which has the potential to disrupt the production environment, requires a change record, with the required information, for the review, scheduling, and approval by all impacted lines of business and/or support units.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in ITIL and Change Management, Change Release or related Service Management processes.
  • Thorough understanding of key technology areas (networks, midrange/mainframe and distributed systems; operations; monitoring; etc.) such that key technology changes can be understood and evaluated with an eye towards good collision analysis; risk mitigation and identification; implementation planning; appropriate validation; and scheduling decisions.
  • Strong business acumen and communication (oral & written) skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.
  • Proven ability to interface with senior staff across the firm and GTI, providing guidance and exerting influence in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Good understanding of GTI's support model/structure.
  • Knowledge of ITSM and other Change and Reporting tools such as CPR, and FCI.
  • Experience developing, preparing, and delivering presentations to senior management.
  • Must be detail oriented with high degree of accuracy and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to thrive under pressure; adhere to guidelines; and deal with competing priorities.
  • Must be able to work and contribute within geographically and culturally diverse groups.
  • Must be able to work within a global team in different time zones and/or be available during various time zones to participate in global meetings when scheduled.
