Job description Key Objectives

Clients are increasingly focusing their attention on the effectiveness of Supply Chain Finance providers to implement and successfully manage their established programmes.  The Client considers this aspect as a critical part of their buying criteria and therefore JP Morgan must present a compelling and persuasive proposition.
A core component is the appointment of a dedicated Programme Manager, whose objective is work closely with the Client to establish the programme and then manage its successful growth through the on-boarding of Suppliers. Critical to this role is the ability to establish credibility with the Client through the provision of guidance and advice based on extensive track record and experience of these types of programmes.  The Programme Manager will be positioned as having longer term responsibility for the programme which is important to the Client.  
The Programme Manager will work closely with Trade Advisory colleagues to help structure deliverable solutions and with others within the Trade Solution Delivery team.  The incumbent will be responsible for segmenting the Supplier base, to develop and execute an effective marketing strategy for persuading Suppliers to join the programme.  Finally the role will be responsible for reporting key programme metrics to the Client and to recommend ways to leverage further value for the programme’s participants.

Principle Responsibilities

Key elements of the job are:
  • As part of the deal team, to work with Sales and Trade Advisory to analyse supplier data in order to formulate  powerful implementation and on-boarding strategies
  • Participate in pitching the proposition to the Client with particular emphasis on the long term nature of the Programme Manager responsibilities
  • Execute the agreed on-boarding strategy, which will typically include having  face to face meetings with top tier  Suppliers, organising and presenting at Supplier workshops and/or telephone sales programmes (for lower tiered Suppliers), in order to persuade their participation in the programme
  • Manage the day to day on-boarding process to ensure relevant documentation is complete and the Supplier is successfully established on APAR.
  • Have an understanding of the relevant Supply Chain Finance products including their operation, process flow and financials.  Also building knowledge of the Client’s and Suppliers’ financial drivers, buying criteria, and being able to demonstrate how the product meets their needs
  • Providing feedback to Sales and Product on issues arising during the enrolment process, either generally or with particular suppliers, and work to resolve problems or recommend adjustments to the programme if necessary
  • Source and regularly present appropriate M.I. to both the Client and internal Stakeholders. Analyse  on-boarding levels and facility utilisation in order to instigate appropriate actions      
  •  Work with Programme Managers in other Regions to co-ordinate the on-boarding of Suppliers based in the EMEA Region
  •  Work with Product, Technology, and Operations to develop and enhance the systems and procedures supporting the product.  Feed suggestions and market intelligence from participants to deepen our knowledge of the market and identify business opportunities
  • Developing product training and marketing materials.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Experience of Supply Chain Finance from either, a Product, Sales or Client Service perspective is vital.  Personal impact and credibility are essential aspects from a Client perspective, as are a methodical and detailed eye for the on-going deployment of the programme.  Organisational skills are required to marshal internal resources in support of the programme. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities on a daily basis, so some experience of effective project management skills are desirable. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Fluency in Italian language skills preferred
  • Additional European language skills would be beneficial
