J.P.Morgan Private Investments (JPMPI), which sits within the Corporate line of business, brings together the Strategic and Heritage Private Equity Investing activities of the firm into a single center of investing excellence. JPMPI has approximately 40 professionals (both Front Office and Finance and Business Management) located in New York, Chicago, London and Hong Kong.


Strategic Investments acts as a service provider to the Lines of Business and Corporate. It is a central resource to help identify, diligence, structure, negotiate, close, monitor and divest investments. Heritage Private Equity holds approximately $1.5 billion AUM and the Finance team oversees fund and partnership accounting, distribution management, treasury services, tax support services, waterfall/carry calculations, financial and regulatory reporting, and corporate entity administration and domiciliation services.


The JPMPI Associate will work closely with the Controller and coordinate with members of the Strategic Investment Finance and Business Management teams.  Key activities include review of monthly investment activity, prospective monitoring of deal pipeline, and ensuring relevant information is communicated between investment professionals, middle office and relevant LOB controllers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Track monthly investment activity and assist with review process to feed management reporting systems

  • Develop and perform monthly reconciliations to ensure data integrity for management reporting

  • Coordinate with Strategic Investment Finance team to ensure relevant investment updates are communicated between front office and back office teams

  • Assist with management of RCA approval process for all investment activity

  • Provide analysis and insight on investment portfolio to individuals in accounting policy, valuation control group, principal risk and corporate tax as needed

  • Assist with month-end general ledger close activities

  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly portfolio review

  • Develop process and procedure documentation for various finance related activities

  • Assist with ad hoc projects


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum of three to five years of business experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and adjust priorities as needed

  • Detail oriented and extremely organized

  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to work with people at all levels

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel
