CIB Tax Operations PMO Tax Reporting Analyst

The Corporate & Investment Bank’s (CIB) Chief Administrative Office (CAO) represents the CIB’s Technology, Operations, Controls, Analytics and New Product Development.  Within the CAO there are various groups that support the operational, technical and control aspects of US Withholding Tax and Global Tax reporting.  The CIB Tax Program Management team supports the various CIB group through changes due to new or changed regulations, quality improvement, and process improvements.  The team are looking for an Analyst to support the CIB Tax PMO Reporting lead in delivering the International Tax Reporting solutions for various programs such as FATCA, UK CDOT, Common Reporting Standard (CRS), and 871m.   These programs are part of firm-wide programs impacting all of the CIB sub-Lines of Businesses (Markets, Investor Services and Treasury Services) cutting across multiple functions including Operations, Technology, Controls, Legal, Client Service, Finance and Compliance.
  • Work with CIB Tax PMO Lead & Reporting Project Manager and Corporate Tax, Compliance, Legal and Tax Control to determine how tax regulations impact CIB International Tax Reporting. Including:
    • Impact on Operating Model
    • Validate and investigate large data populations to identify key themes / issues
    • Systems Enhancements required to capture key data elements and where possible create automated validation
    • End to end control points 
  • Assist Reporting Project Manager in managing the work stream lifecycle including:
    • Defining scope of reporting projects and milestones
    • Ensure proper artifacts are collected to substantiate findings to internal and external stakeholders, e.g., Audit, Compliance, Tax Control team.   
    • Identify, escalate and assist to drive key risks, issues, dependencies to closure.
    • Build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders in the different businesses our team supports (e.g., Investor Services, Markets and Treasury Services) and functions (e.g., Legal, Finance, Operations, etc.)
    • Partner with technology to ensure the design and build requirements meet business needs, and complete User Acceptance Testing on technology solutions
  • Assist CIB Tax Operations, where required, in complying with Regulatory deadlines
    • Review and validate reporting files received from Operations
    • Format data into defined schema and submit to internal partners
The candidate must be a self starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment.  Additional qualifications:
  • Technical Skills:  Must have Intermediate Microsoft Office skills:   Excel, including: in cell formula; graphs; macros; pivot tables.   Microsoft Access & Word
  • Relevant degree and/or previous relevant Experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Proven experience of relationship management communicating complex issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of working in a team structure.
  • Demonstrated flexibility.
  • Proven experience of learning new techniques, processes and systems against deadlines
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Strong analytical, data management and problem solving skills
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a changing work environment
  • Ability to critically challenge when warranted with the goal of resolving issues
  • Knowledge of US and non-US Regulations (including Tax) a plus.
