This role resides within the CIB Global Compliance Practices Organization and is accountable for supporting the effective execution of firmwide and CIB-specific Compliance initiatives.  Specifically, the position provides support to the CIB Compliance Coverage and Practices teams, both globally and for North America, and manages escalation and reporting processes within Compliance and to the business. Additionally, the Reporting Manager will support programs critical to CIB Compliance and Global Compliance initiatives, which may involve participation from and have an impact on multiple businesses, functions and regions. This position requires knowledge and background in Compliance, as well as familiarity with regulatory and/or audit best practices.
  • Manage the deliverables for the weekly, monthly and quarterly Escalation & Reporting processes for senior CIB Compliance management
  • Develop and manage a robust, end-to-end reporting framework for CIB Compliance that facilitates a transparent environment and communication channel for escalating compliance risk issues and regulatory updates
  • Ensure key trends, issues and watch items are brought forward clearly and accurately from MIS into management summaries
  • Engage with CIB Compliance leadership and other stakeholders to define, prioritize and implement requirements for senior management reporting, which may include both qualitative program updates and quantitative, metrics-based reporting
  • Drive the implementation and execution of Compliance best practices for CIB Compliance Reporting – e.g.,  procedures, governance documentation and quality assurance (QA) reviews
  • Independently develop value-added report enhancements and reporting solutions
  • Partner with LOB / Region Compliance teams, Internal Audit, Operational Risk and other control functions to execute on key Compliance initiatives within the context of the firm’s global compliance mandate
  • Participate in working groups to move initiatives forward within Compliance and/or with other business / functional partners
  • Manage ad hoc reports, projects and requests
The candidate must be a self starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment, be confident and have excellent organizational, planning and communications skills as the role will have global exposure, accountability and responsibility.
  • Bachelor's Degree, required. JD or law degree, preferred.
  • 5-10 years experience with a large financial institution
  • Previous manager experience
  • Ability to interact with senior managers, including experience preparing executive summaries, reports and presentations for senior management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work within a team both vertically and horizontally
  • Project management, compliance, audit, governance and/or control background preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance environment
  • Possess sense of urgency, intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendations
  • Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Excellent PC skills that include proficiency in Microsoft applications: PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint and Excel; flexibility and comfort in learning new software and other project reporting tools.
