Data Acquisition team is a technology group within Risk Finance and Technology which is developing a Data Convergence Platform. This strategic reengineering program will develop a platform to process information from various upstream systems related with various Risk stripes: Credit Risk, Market Risk, Portfolio Risk, Stress Test, and Country Risk and make it available to downstream consumers such as applications and analysts.

 

We are actively seeking a Big Data Developer with a deep knowledge of Spark and Hadoop framework.

  • We are looking for someone experienced in the Risk and Fina nce Technology space for a Global Investment Bank with knowledge of Trades, Streams, Positions, Sensitivities, Cash flows, P&L and MTM. Experience with Hadoop/Hive technologies is essential. 
  • In addition potential candidates MUST have experience with and are enthusiastic about developing Hadoop processes using Spark, Sqoop, and also Core Java programming for both back-end processes as well as middle-tier processing.
  •  The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Writing large scale Spark Jobs in Java, creating Oozie Workflows, transferring data from relational databases to our Hadoop store using Sqoop, and writing Java programs in pure Core Java to facilitate both real-time and batch processing.
  • All processes will be deployed to Unix/Linux environments; therefore a working understanding of Unix/Linux is required.
  •  A working knowledge of SQL is also required as we will be integrating Big Data technologies with traditional Relational Databases.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with HDFS, Hive, Oozie, Sqoop, Impala, Spark, HBASE.
  • Must be proficient in Security and have hands on experience with HDFS, Hive, Impala security using Sentry
  • Must be familiar with UNIX Security Model and Kerberos.(SSL and Hadoop Data encryption a plus)
  • Proficiency in Avro, Parquet, JSON, Formats.
  • Hands on programming experience with YARN/Spark.
  • Proficient in data compression algorithms and technologies (Snappy, Gzip etc).
  • Experience developing optimum strategies for distributing data over a cluster.
  • Experience integrating a relational database and a NoSQL store.
  • Experience developing Spark/YARN applications using Java.
  • Familiarity with Black Duck scanning and writing secure code in Java, Python, Ruby, Scala will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with Data visualization tools like Splunk, Tableau,  Clikview, Spotfire, Platfora, Datameer.
  • Demonstrate strong interest in process automation and orchestration.
  • Hands on experience with Autosys, Control-M.
  • Core Java and SQL application development experience.
Education Requirement:
College degree with a major in a technical field or specialized training / equivalent work experience
Must Have:
  • Experience designing, testing and deploying Spark applications in an HDFS/Hadoop.
  • SQL development experience.
  • Participate in code reviews to assure that developed and tested code conforms to the design and architecture principles and accurately reflects the business information models.   
  • End-to-End experience seeing projects to completion and turnover to Operations staff.
  • Preparation of documentation of infrastructure and operational procedures.
