The CIB Data Science team is responsible for the design, strategy, and execution of the solutions for data science needs across the CIB. Its’ focus includes the technological, analytical, and product design requirements to create actionable insights with measurable business value across all lines of business and all supporting functions within the CIB. The team is organised into two distinct and complementary functions: Data Management Services and Data Analytics Services:

 

Data Management Services seek to ensure that our data assets are accessible, reliable and correctly entitled.  Furthermore it partners with technology and the businesses to design and create the infrastructure to harness our disparate, hard-to-access raw data through an easy-to-access, well-understood data layer.

 

Data Analytics Services partner with technology and the lines of business to leverage our data to create actionable insights that transform the firm, working closely with multiple groups across Quantitative Research (QR), FinTech, JPM Intelligent Solutions (JPMIS).

 

New technologies and business models are emerging with the potential to radically transform financial services. By now, it’s well understood that Banks will have to embrace technology and innovation if they are to thrive in the years to come. Collectively JP Morgan CIB’s Emerging Technologies teams (incorporating FinTech, In–Residence, and Blockchain Centre of Excellence) are driving these efforts through thought leadership, ecosystem engagement, and creating real value by building business solutions. 

 

Role Description:

 

The core role will be providing Business Management support to the CIB Data Science & Emerging Technologies teams in the following capacity:

  • Building effective relationships and work closely with the Leads and their respective management teams
  • Managing the communication of teams’ efforts to senior stakeholders
  • Support development of business strategy and assist in key planning processes for the teams
  • Ensure and manage robust governance processes and procedures
  • Coordinate and follow-up on initiatives that are common across multiple teams
  • Work with functional partners to execute on priority projects
  • Act as an enabler in facilitate new partnerships by assisting in on-boarding and third party oversight (TPO)

Summary of Core Responsibilities: 

  • Ownership of performance reporting to key business forums
  • Lead strategic and financial analyses to help formulate strategy and execute on innovation agenda
  • Collaborate with Business, Finance and Technology teams on a range of projects to drive business objectives
  • Development and oversight of performance metrics for the business, including financial, pipeline, expenses
  • Support the Leads and their teams with:    
    • strategy (e.g. projects/ initiatives)
    • reporting (e.g. pipeline tracking)
    • planning (e.g. annual budgeting)
  • Assist in key business/strategic priorities
  • Preparation of business performance presentations/reviews

  • Pro-active and problem solving mind-set with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; flexibility, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
  • Strong visual communication skills in PowerPoint and other tools
