Position Summary
  • Members of the team spend time supporting and advising our existing client base, marketing to potential clients (both public and private) and executing transactions for our clients (including M&A, equity capital markets and debt capital markets mandates). 
  • An analyst would be expected to assist senior members of the team with executing TMT transactions, preparing and delivering marketing initiatives, providing corporate broking services and assisting in the provision of a complete suite of corporate finance advice to existing and target clients.  Often, an analyst would be asked to play the role of day-to-day lead on projects.
  • The team covers the Telecoms, Media and Technology sectors in the UK, acting as corporate broker to a number of FTSE 350 corporates (which involves regular communication with market-facing colleagues) and executing a broad range of M&A, equity capital markets and debt capital markets transactions for its clients.

Key responsibilities
  • The role involves financial / valuation analysis and requires the development of a strong understanding of businesses within the sectors that the team covers and their strategies.
  • Preparation of presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums and other presentation materials for use in corporate finance transactions or client meetings
  • Preparation, Regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
  • Provision of high quality advice to broking clients
  • Structuring and execution of transactions (M&A / equity capital markets / debt capital markets)
  • Interaction with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
  • Liaising with J.P. Morgan product teams and global sector teams
  • Liaising with UK equities and research departments
  • Detailed valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analysis
  • Detailed combination and other financial analysis
  • Leadership, mentorship and supervision of project / client team analysts and interns
Qualifications
  • Experience in a bulge bracket Investment Bank or leading Corporate Finance Boutique – preferably in TMT – but candidates from other M&A, Industry or Leveraged Finance teams will also be considered
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients and people in a professional and mature manner
  • Exceptionally strong financial modeling / valuation skills
  • Very strong analytical / numeracy skills
  • Ability to react well to pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
  • Comfort in and commitment to a strong teamwork environment
  • Industry knowledge / interest
  • High level of attention to detail and time management
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and proactive
  • Initiative to take responsibility for tasks and drive them to completion
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related subject
