Group Descriptions
 
Firmwide Risk Management is comprised of independent risk groups reporting to the Firm’s Chief Risk Officer. The Firmwide risk groups work in close partnership with all lines of business, line of business aligned risk teams and functions areas to promote consistent risk management practices and ensure that the firm’s risk profile is transparent to senior management, the Board of Directors and regulators.
 
This role reports to the Head of EMEA LE Risk Strategy to lead and support the local implementation of the EMEA Risk Initiatives and Legal Entity Risk Oversight agenda. An important part of this agenda is the support and further improvement of a robust end to end Risk Management infrastructure to accommodate the anticipated business developments in the context of the Legal Entity Risk Framework. In addition, the Risk Officer will contribute to the development and  implementation of risk initiatives in the region
 
Job Responsibilities
 
The Risk Officer will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Coordinate Risk stripes input into Legal Entity Risk Framework and support the oversight of risks at legal entity level in close coordination with the Legal Entity Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
  • Support the production of regulatory reports and Stress Testing processes, governance and submissions to Regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate input from risk stripe owners responsible for Capital Assessment, Recovery planning and ongoing Stress Testing.
  • Co-ordinate risk management input and activities between Risk, Treasury and Finance and Stress Testing Modelling as required
  • Support the Risk Management interaction with Regulatory bodies on all matters with regard to the ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery planning including the Supervisor Review Evaluation Process (SREP)
  • Develop documentation and internal protocols to meet SREP – Risk and Internal Governance Assessment (RIGA) requirements
  • Deliver and maintain robust documentation of all the required regulatory reports, including supporting information and maintain risk models in accordance with JPMC model policies and standards
  • Lead and coordinate Risk Management input and evaluations into New Business Initiatives
  • Further develop, and implement, the legal entity risk management framework across the region, ensuring consistency within the region, and with global practices
Skills/Experience Required
 
The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment and capable of communicating and escalating appropriately across a senior audience. Additional qualifications include:
  • Several years relevant experience in Risk Management, preferably in a banking institution.
  • Have relevant experience in conceptualization, development and implementation of risk management frameworks, including risk appetite, risk governance and risk policies and procedures.
  • Possess relevant experience with respect to ICAAP, stress testing frameworks, Pillar 2A capital assessments, reverse stress testing policies and methodologies and/ or wider enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Possess demonstrable professional experience in risk management within an international financial institution and /or within a consulting firm with exposure to risk practices, risk systems, capital methodologies and with a track record at a senior level
  • Demonstrable familiarity with regulatory requirements such as Basel II and Basel III, CRD IV
  • Experience in managing and coordinating and producing ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plans to regulators.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills gained within a financial, regulatory and risk environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and experience in producing quality communications to senior executives and senior committees.
  • Good knowledge of risk management methodologies and techniques (in particular Market and Credit Risk).
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory environment/requirements with regard to Capital, Stress Testing and Market Risk.
  • Ability to provide management support to specialised teams of subject matter experts in Risk Management, Capital and Stress Testing.
  • Ability to research and interpret internal and external best practices and regulatory requirements, and execute enhancements to the existing practices.
  • Excellent command of English and German (Frankfurt Only)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
