The CCB Chief Development Office (CDO) is a design organization responsible for the Tools, Practices and Adoption of standard technologies, development practices and reference architectures within CCB for the 4000+ application developers across a variety of sites in the US and India.
As the Software Engineer for Cloud, you will be a technical lead and assist hands on with defining and implementing the Cloud Enablement strategy for JP Morgan Chase. This position requires a strong self-starter with solid technical programming background and technical leadership qualities, who can lead the way, assist development teams with defining and implementing the Cloud and help with any other technical issues related to migrating existing applications to cloud. You will partner closely with Architecture, the Infrastructure team, risk and control teams, to ensure the proposed cook books and guidelines are in line with existing capabilities, required controls and future features of the existing tool sets.   
You will lead by example, which includes coding yourself where necessary, developing cook books, Proof of Concepts (POCs) and do whatever necessary to guide development teams towards cloud.
As the Software Engineer you will have technical leadership of a Cloud Enablement work stream for the Consumer & Community Banking Chief Development Office. You will be able to deliver consistently whatever is needed, thanks to your previous hands on experience with various Cloud Migration and Cloud Enablement models and your previous hands on experience with true Agile software delivery.
You will assist with developing guidelines on how to assess and measure teams towards the vision for Cloud Enablement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Software Engineer in CCB CDO Cloud Enablement workstream
  • Deliver documentation, guidelines, best practices, sample code or components that will help development teams during migration to Cloud
  • Assist development teams with assessing their processes and level of automation towards the ultimate Cloud vision
  • Ensure compliance to JPMC’s and CCB’s policies, guidelines, processes and technology controls
  • Continuously drive development efficiencies aligned with the development standards
  • Perform POCs and present the results to various levels of the management team
  • Contribute to the tools vision of the CDO, present the vision and assist with driving adoption
Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience and minimum 5+ years of hands on experience in Java. At least 3 years experience with Agile, Continuous Delivery and DevOps, preferably with an emphasis on Cloud development. At least 3 years recent experience in the financial services industry, preferably working for a large bank.
  • Hands on recent coding experience with the latest WEB technologies (either Java or .NET) on the Cloud. (PaaS)
  • Hands on experience with Continuous Delivery and related tool sets
  • Hands on experience with Cloud Enablement and Cloud Migration and related best practices
  • Ability to contribute to architecture discussions around technology controls and their implementation in a DevOps/Cloud environment
  • Broad exposure to development tools for Agile development  methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills to various levels of the organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision making
  • Ability to resolve conflict & facilitate decision-making
  • Flexible, process-oriented, organized, with excellent analytical & troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to deliver the agreed upon scope within short sprint cycles.
