Global Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) is a best-in-class, global HR Service Delivery organization of over 800 people, servicing the entire global population of JPMC, currently totaling over 260,000 employees worldwide, in 60 countries. HRSD provides vital services in the area of Payroll, accessHR, Workforce Analytics (Surveys) and On/Off boarding employees. Role:
 
The Payroll Tax Policy Consultant will report to the Payroll Tax Compliance Officer, partner with Corporate Tax and third party vendor for Global Business Travel.  Ensure tax calculations and filings are processed accurately and timely in order to protect JPMorgan Chase from any incurred tax liabilities due to employee business travel globally and domestically. Provide Tax expertise and support for the Payroll process to ensure JPMC remains compliant within all government agencies.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the corporation’s global payroll tax compliance, in adherence with federal, state, and local laws, ensuring the inclusion of best practices
  • Review & perform Global Business Travel tax calculations processed by third party vendor applying foreign exchange rates and calculation methodologies for various wage types
  • Effectively communicate and respond to senior executive employees’ complex tax inquiries
  • Draft clear, concise, and succinct communication notices to employees regarding tax adjustments and tax updates
  • Ensure completion of employee tax setups are compliant across all jurisdictions
  • Confirm accurate employee tax data in coordination with the Legal and Corporate Tax Departments
  • Research and resolve all incoming tax correspondence from federal, state & local tax agencies along with any internal inquiries as it applies to Corporate Tax Audit request
  • Ability to understand and prepare tax filings and tax amendments
  • Ongoing awareness to reduce both financial and reputational exposure for JPMorgan Chase
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaison with all tax partners in Corporate Tax and Payroll Tax & Operations
  • Active participation in all successful resolution of tax audits & tax warrants with full mitigation of risk and penalty (performing in-depth analysis and reconciliation of all tax data (transcripts, SOD's, tax returns, W-2, and W-2s) in relation to Global Business Travel
  • Actively participate in project planning to ensure all timelines are achievable and met according to work plans
  • Synthesize and analyze information into summary reports as part of overall project requirements
  • Provide spreadsheet expertise for reporting and statistical analysis purposes
  • Keeping current on tax releases through communication with KPMG, EY, and other tax experts
  • Quality control review of table maintenance changes resulting from Tax Patch update
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of accounting and tax experience is required
  • Multi-State payroll tax experience with in-depth knowledge of federal, state, local tax compliance, including year-end W-2 wage and tax statements
  • Knowledge and experience applying foreign exchange rates including monthly and annual average
  • Understanding of tax methodologies; supplemental, aggregate, and annualized
  • Working knowledge of an integrated payroll system (SAP, PeopleSoft, PeopleSoft Query, ADP)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills; knowledge of benchmarking processes and solutions
  • Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite including Excel
  • Models importance of controls and compliance in payroll and payroll tax work
  • Superior attention to detail and tenacity to follow through and resolve outstanding issues
  • Strong organizational skills and able to multitask, meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with changing and competing initiatives
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to quickly absorb product knowledge, process information; apply appropriately to meet client's needs
  • Must be both a team player and a self-managed individual, with ability to work in a virtual environment
